Why is it that people's anecdotal experiences of increased traffic volumes are dismissed and they are told that it has actually decreased?
It's because IslingtonBC normalise "traffic" flows to tell you numbers have gone down when they've actually gone up

Park Lane north used to be 4 lanes at 40mph before the popup cycle lane parrell to the cycle lane in Hyde Park appeared. Now Park Lane north is a wide 2 way cycle lane, a wide bus lane, and a single lane for cars at 20mph. No surprise that it can't carry the same amount of cars.

Once again, Park Lane is at a standstill, but bike lane remains empty from south to Marble Arch! Why wouldn't it? Few yards away there's a bike lane in Hyde Park. Far more preferable to cycle in a park as opposed to a busy road. @SadiqKhan time to remove this blot to London life

Finally, after over 90% public opposition, we now have a recommendation to remove Harrow Council’s unwanted, wasteful and dangerous schemes. This time the council leadership must listen and remove them. But more than that, we need to ensure this never happens again #freeharrow
