The bottleneck for oversight is the accessibility and transfer speed of information. When reporters’ FOIAs take months/years and take thousands of dollars to process --- oversight suffers When I have to ask a question in committee about how a program works because there is no published information on it and they hit me with the “we’ll have to get back to you” and then never do --- oversight suffers. If AI can't answer our questions, we haven't put enough information online yet.

Grok bot this week: 1. Saved me $3500/year on property insurance across my rental portfolio (with more coverage) 2.Categorized every business transaction YTD for my accountant. 3. Listed one of my rental properties. Communicated with 34 prospective tenants, getting them to fill out pre-screening -- summarized in a google sheet. Scheduled 8 tours. Texted current tenants via google voice number to find time that worked. All in the background of an otherwise busy week. Very powerful stuff.

They’re not even trying anymore. What a total joke. It’s Harris +6 on the recall with 48% share. And it’s D+6 with more “independents” than Republicans.

.@WeWill2026: “I’ll admit, I’ve spoken in anger in the last 15 years” Buddy, you called for the death of a sitting U.S. Senator in 2021. You can’t use the “I said dumb things when I was young defense” if you were a grown ass man.

During his time in Washtenaw County, Eli Savit has used taxpayer-funded cars and gas cards to campaign, while also earning money working for a Virgin Islands based law firm. If he is abusing his office as the Washtenaw County Prosecutor, what would he do as Attorney General?

Maybe Silver Bulletin will have to start an annual tradition of a Worst Internal Poll of the Year Award, naming and shaming the worst (least accurate) poll in the headline.
The internal polling situation is claiming that Democrats are in margin-of-error races in both Trump +31 Arkansas and Trump +0.2 VA-02 lmao

GORILLA TRADE The Brookfield Zoo of Chicago is trading two Western Lowland Gorillas Kamba and Nora- ages 20 and 12, to the Columbus Zoo for 12 year-old old Kamina and 8-year-old Zahra. Chicago gets younger and sheds some bad contracts
There’s still time to say goodbye to two gorillas who will soon leave Brookfield Zoo Chicago. More: wgntv.com/western-suburbs/tw…

0% of education studies were duplicated. What an insane stat.
A 7-year study of 3,900 social science papers found that only ~50% could be replicated. There was significant variation across fields, however. While more than 60% of political science & econ papers were replicated, only ~25% of sociology & 0% of education papers were.

NYC real estate agents when landlords are banned from verifying income
JUST IN: Mamdani proposes banning NYC landlords from requiring both proof of income & a credit check — while forcing landlords or brokers to pay any credit-check fees.

it's just a soccer game, you might say. but that's exactly why this strikes me as so insane. there are zero stakes, the easiest "I care about america" in the world, and they still can't support our country. in fact, they seem to see any demonstration of support as a liability.
"World Cup — who are you rooting for to win it all?" Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D): "Mexico" Darializa Chevalier (D): "Senegal"

I would be more okay with this if I didn’t see what she did to CMU. At one point, because of her appointments, a majority of CMUs board members had no tie to the university whatsoever and lived over 2.5 hours away. She even made a WMU grad the board chair.
