City and state are the same thing but apparently the made u state boundaries from 1950s and the country are different territories in delulu land.

I wish i could use better words but i choose to keep it simple. You think the capital cities are diff from their states, which they are not. States work as a whole unit, the poor states should be reminded their responsibility.
This is such a dimwit argument. These 'unheard villages' in the north have been filling many Rajdhanis, Shatabdis, Vande Bharats with their allegedly non existent disposable income.
Many don't realise that those old and supposedly cheap services are in fact making huge losses for Indian Railways - approx 1 lakh crores a year that could be used elsewhere.
IR does charity with such services, not business. That's why it gets away with low quality.
Genuine question.
New Delhi - Patna Sampoorn Karnti express, no fancy name, just a simple superfast train takes 13hrs for 1000km.
Why can't normal superfast train run on Bengaluru Mumbai route 1200km in 16hrs that a new Vande Bharat Train is needed at almost double fare to cover same distance in 16hr?
Are we providing public service or purely doing business under fancy names?
Take this question to its logical conclusion. Why should the rich subsidize the poor? North or South.
Why stop at the artificial state borders? Why should Bengaluru subsidize rural Karnataka? Why should Mumbai subsidize rest of Maharashtra?
The poison is being called the antidote because it looks to them like the only path to power.
“Caste is the antidote.”

Earlier: the voter list before 2024 was the correct one, removal of voters in SIR is vote chori.
Now: the current list post SIR is correct, 2024 is vote chori.
What the donkey says or is going to say, he himself doesn’t know.
#WATCH | INDIA bloc mega rally | Delhi: Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi says, "Fifteen per cent of India's voters were removed from the voter list after the 2024 elections. This means the 2024 election was an illegal election. It was a stolen election. I am not the one saying this, the Election Commission is saying this."

Even gains are guaranteed when you make everyone poor. Essentially, force Michael Bloomberg to give away all of his wealth, donate Bloomberg to his employees
C'mon Bloomberg, what is this headline?
Gains are ALWAYS uneven! This is why I hate the inequality discourse started by Piketty and Zucman.
Living standards for the population are correlated with poverty reduction. You can quantify this in lesser infant deaths, lesser maternal mortality and longer life expectancy.
A rising tide lifts ALL boats. The only times where it doesn't, is if an extractive state keeps all the surplus for itself.
Such a study will miss the reality that always was enormous latent demand for comfortable travel.
But our socialist netas and babus drove this set away. Vote bank wants subsidy trains. All sins of productivity, efficiency are forgiven when serving this category. Win win for all.

India in 2011: Nearly 58 out of every 100 people lived below the World Bank's lower-middle-income poverty threshold.
India in 2023: That number had fallen to approximately 16 out of every 100 people.
India in 2011: More than one-fourth of the population lived in extreme poverty.
India in 2023: Extreme poverty had declined to just 2.6%.
These comparisons reveal the magnitude of India's transformation in little more than a decade.
The World Bank's October 2026 brief estimates that 496 million Indians moved above the
$4.20/day poverty line during this period.
Behind this decline are stronger household consumption, expanding employment and social protection measures that helped support vulnerable populations.
India's development story becomes even more powerful when we compare where the country stood in 2011 with where it stood in 2023.
The distance travelled is extraordinary.
For 75 years, we were told this is noble, virtuous. Jholachhaps still glorify and dream of restoring India to this.
Except for themselves. The Left suffer the exclusive clubs, the filthy rich for the Good Fight. Medha, Teesta, YoYa and more all have endured so much for the poor.
This is the same story that every low quality, parasitic government run entity sells to the taxpayer. That the public must continue funding the grift in their own interest.
Every single govt entity.
🙏 A HEARTFELT THANK YOU, SHRI RAHUL GANDHI JI @RahulGandhi Leader of Opposition @INCIndia
The IDBI Bank family sincerely thanks Shri Rahul Gandhi ji, Hon’ble Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for standing with IDBI Bank employees and supporting their legitimate concerns.
IDBI Bank is not just a bank; it is a legacy of nation-building, public trust, and social responsibility. A profitable public institution built with public money deserves transparency, accountability, and protection of public interest.
Our fight is not merely for jobs; it is for the future of public sector banking, social justice, and the interests of millions of Indians.
We hope this support will strengthen our collective voice to stop the privatisation of IDBI Bank and safeguard its public character.
Thank you, Rahul Gandhi ji, for standing with the IDBI Bank family! 🇮🇳
IDBI BANK IS NOT FOR SALE!

Plenty of such regressive people in the country. They can't bear to think someone else could possibly rise above the sewer they were accustomed to.
The level of illiteracy even among journalists is shocking

15 to 25 rs per Kg is retail price of potato just now in UP. That is why Farm laws were introduced but farmers themselves opposed it. Need to curb middlemans profit, profit must go to farmers first then somewhere else
Typical rhetoric of the ignorant.
Flood market with goods that no buyer has the capacity or the cash to absorb the material. Prices will fall.
Stupid to compare the price of your potatos with the ones used for chips.
Even dumber to get into a business you don't understand.
Have started sowing potatoes today.
To everyone who mocked or abused me for being a farmer, Tax free income, here’s a reality check. Today, a 50 kg bag of potatoes is selling for just ₹250.
Meanwhile, businesses sell 100 grams of fries for ₹100. Now decide for yourself who actually makes the bigger profit: the farmer or the business?
So far, I’ve already spent: ₹100 per bag just for cold storage of seed potatoes.
₹100 per bag on sowing.
That’s ₹200 already spent, with many more expenses still to come before harvest, including irrigation, fertilizers, labour, pesticides, transport, and more.
In the end, a farmer is often left with barely ₹5–10 profit on a 50 kg bag, if that.
Despite all this, farmers still don’t abuse anyone. We simply work hard, feed the nation, and hope for a fair return!
The day Punjab, India has large-scale food processing plants, farmers will finally be able to earn what they truly deserve. 😀🙏🏻

Indian Express was founded in 1932. Ramnath Goenka wanted so much from it. Journalism of Courage.
Yet, the news outlet is today a mostly empty shell. Filled with low quality whiners. Content with taking potshots at Modi.
Three years ago, PM Modi inaugurated the 3,200-crore Surat Diamond Bourse, calling it “the best diamond in the world” and an example of “Modi’s guarantee” for Surat.
Today, the “world’s biggest office space in a single project” is a largely empty shell.

Mumbai Metro Line 1 is by now one of the highest density ridership lines globally. Delhi Metro carries 70+ lakh riders daily.
Metros are upgrades to local trains. Local train fares 30 years ago were at today's metro levels compared to incomes. What are these people on about?
Replying to @hussaindorewala
I do wonder what metro ridership numbers would be like if ticket pricing was more in line with local trains. I would imagine it would be much higher (and I assume that the projections would have been done without considering price as a barrier to usage).

The Gateway of India was built in Bombay. The Taj Mahal Palace opened in Bombay. Marine Drive became the Queen’s Necklace in Bombay. Victoria Terminus, the Rajabai Clock Tower and Bombay’s extraordinary Art Deco district emerged from Bombay’s evolution as a global city.
Bombay gave India Dadabhai Naoroji, Pherozeshah Mehta, Homi Bhabha, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Farokh Engineer, Chief Justice S.H. Kapadia and great industrialists from the Tata legacy. It nurtured a world-class financial centre, a textile revolution and the Hindi film industry.
Bombay’s identity has been shaped by the Kolis, Parsis, Gujaratis, Sindhis, Marwaris, Marathi communities and diverse communities from across India. Bombay is a city, a culture and an emotion, built by generations of people who built it and called it home.
The 1995 renaming was a political decision. It cannot make that history disappear, or render the identity of millions who knew it as Bombay any less legitimate.
Call it Mumbai if you wish. But don’t force me to. And don’t reduce the history of a great city to serve a single community or a single political narrative.
I genuinely have a question to all those who still call the city as Bombay and not Mumbai.
It has been 30 years since the city is renamed as Mumbai. And still the non-native speakers insist on calling it Bombay. Some of the native speakers also go by the same name while speaking in Hindi or English. I see that in reels, filmy people conversations, college kids' conversations, and everywhere else too.
I don't really have an issue with whatever you wanna call the city but the insistence of calling it Bombay is like disrespecting the local identity and language and feelings of the original inhabitants. And though Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city, it has its own language, culture, food, identify. The local flavour needs to be RESPECTED.
And don't give me a political argument.... Some of you weren't even born when the politics around it happened. Apart from that, what is the reason?
Hello @MMRDAOfficial @MumbaiMetro01 save 20 minutes for lakhs of metro commuters daily:
Convert to paid the full L1 WEH to L7 Gundavali station connecting area, including the FOB.
It is doable. Try it out with temp partitions. @DrSanMukherjee @CMOMaharashtra
