Left: President Trump insults Norway calling it a sh*thouse country
Right: Visit Norway, the tourism board, trolls President Trump, displaying some of their best toilets on their Instagram 😅
My view:
Trump chose to insult Norway. Visit Norway answered with humour, confidence and a showcase of its most beautiful loos.
That’s how you turn an insult into an invitation. Congratulations to Norway for responding with such grace - and giving us another reason to visit.
I've never been to Norway, but this is just another reason to visit 😁

Simon Heffer’s final pars in his review of Liz Truss’ new book.
Of all the best examples of the Westminster unreality machine, where parts of the illiberal metropolitan elite and press build someone up clearly beyond their abilities, she was by far the worst. Zero accountability, of course.

Thank you for your incredible feedback to our #Newsnight Aberfan special last night. We really really do appreciate it.
The former Bishop of Liverpool actually took to the trouble today to ring the NN desk (he chaired the Hillsboro Independent Panel which helped uncover the truth for victims’ families)
He wanted to express his appreciation for last night's ‘outstanding’ programme and the ‘time & context given to the story’
If you missed it, plse do watch the testimony from survivors Jeff Edwards, Gaynor Madgwick & Gerald Kirwan who were 8 years old, and sitting in class, when that coal tip engulfed their school

I loved doing this! A chance to have an in-depth conversation with the Mooch about my new book ‘Hard Truth’. If you care about the future of democracy it’s the book for you!
🙏@Scaramucci
What happens to democracy when the truth no longer matters, politicians are rewarded for lying, and the institutions meant to hold them accountable are losing their power? This week, I sit down with legendary BBC journalist @stephensackur to discuss the investigations that shook the world, why Donald Trump has survived scandals that would have destroyed other presidents, and whether investigative journalism can still hold the powerful accountable.
Watch/listen on X, YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

I regret to inform everyone that, I, too, did not receive a Nobel Peace Prize for accomplishments that exist only in my imagination.
I ask for grace and understanding during this difficult time.
More pathetic than anything...citing wars never fought, threatening annihilation of another country, and claiming "I got Greenland". Worst case of CV overclaim I have yet to see...a tough choice for the Nobel Peace Prize committee. edition.cnn.com/2026/10/10/p…

Helps to put some of Jim Ratcliffe's comments into context. Feels like another 'kick the ladder' story.
