End the leasehold system for ALL flats, including existing. Managing agents are out of control in London. Flats are unsellable because of service charges. Please make sure it's easy for leaseholders to go down the RtM path, particularly for multi block flats like those in London

Then tell us the truth, it's exhausting. I am paying 884% more in service charges than I was before your party made it's false promises. It's this high because freeholders thought they would lose their cash-cows, you have done nothing but make it worse for millions of people.

I am very very worried that LAFRA is not delivered at all or anywhere near close to what is required. To everyone reading this, you have never seen ineptitude like the sort we’ve seen from managing agents, freeholders and ground rent specialists. It would make your blood boil.

🚨CAN YOU GIVE LEASEHOLDERS A CAST IRON GUARANTEE THAT THE COST WILL GO DOWN ? @AngelaRayner This morning @bbclaurak put the question to Angela, just few days after the valuation consultation, that Leaseholders found impossible to complete closed. #LeaseholdScandal #Trapped

Persuade the govt to scrap leasehold so flat owners in the UK can stop worrying about extortionate service charges for that extra hour! 🙈

🆕 The Lords voted to add a statutory review of shared ownership to the Social Housing Bill. As expected, @mtpennycook has now tabled a Government amendment to remove it. Another missed opportunity to listen to shared owners. ❌ 1. 🧵

We're disappointed that @mtpennycook has tabled an amendment to remove a review of shared ownership from the Social Housing Bill. Do you think a statutory review is important. Check the next post on how to let MPs know. 1/2

And yet, to exit this government-backed scheme, you have to find someone willing to buy your share, knowing you’d be passing the same financial trap on to them. How unethical is that, @mtpennycook?

Why don’t flats sell anymore? The Times highlights soaring service charges and the building safety crisis. Nearly a decade after Grenfell, mortgage barriers and endless remediation delays continue to destroy lives and livelihoods.
