Why are you always rage baiting?
The most problematic thing for me about Oxford Street being pedestrianised is that it makes it easier for theft.
Before, when I’d buy a Rolex, I’d get straight into a taxi outside the store. NOW, myself and others will have to walk further holding luxury items with the fear that we could be potential targets for robbery.
Sadiq Khan really hasn’t taken into consideration the risk for luxury shoppers 🛍️

I had a very vindicating experience today where a white person noticed another white person at work being particularly rude and dismissive towards me and questioned whether said person might be racist.
I have NEVER witnessed a white person recognise micro aggressions before.

🚨 NEW: The Government is set to ban employers from asking candidates how much they earned in previous jobs to stop pay discrimination
I was waiting for the moment where the sink pad would think pad and the think pad has padded this week
I have a smart thermostat, but I don't like it so I went to look at Hive and tell me why most features now are behind a subscription
This could never happen in this country because look what happens when there's the slightest bit of noise in Soho people complain

It's pretty insane how there's a right-wing discourse in the United States that London is collapsing and unsafe. Crossrail alone feels like Star Trek compared to anything in New York. The London Underground has been modernized. Street infrastructure is better. And there's significantly less gun violence.

We need more of this in Britain. Reboot civic pride and cobble the streets. Cobbled streets provide exceptional longevity (a properly installed cobblestone street can last for hundreds of years), natural water management, built-in speed reductions and a timeless aesthetic value.
Replying to @JamesMelville
Credit where credit is due. Durham county council re cobbled this street and it looks brilliant

I don't understand how people's electricity bills go up in winter because mine go down
I don’t understand why we switch to winter time in the EU
It’s 16:00, the day barely started and it’s already getting dark
Poland 🇵🇱 tried to bring it up in the European Commission last year and finally stop turning the clock 1 hour back but the process stalled
I notice i go outside less because of the winter time, feel less motivated and also spend way more electricity because it gets dark fast
I think it’s influencing the European productivity negatively and we are losing in GDP because of it
Winter time is peak degrowth and needs to be abolished asap
That tweet is the type of tweet that is impacting young people, I truly believe more people should spend their 20s building and saving and living in your 30s and beyond I really want to have the money to travel, but right now I just don't have it (high mortgage+renno)
Some days I question if I've made the biggest mistake of my life and then there's moments of my day why I don't mind it 🫠

Not to sound all “avocado toast” but I do think a generation who have been priced out certain adult millstones such as a house etc are opting for inexpensive necessities likes M&S food, £6 lattes and such.
I never understood this but having been in teams where they've employed overqualified people it can and often does disrupt harmonies

Go Ahead London linking up with the job centre and colleges asking anyone with a pink license to apply is why the busses are being driven like BMW 1 series btw.

Unfortunately not, and this is the problem. The average pensioner receives substantially more in pensions, health and other benefits than they contributed in tax/NI during their working lives. (Difficult to calculate but some estimates put the average difference at around £200K). The reasons for this underfunding are 1. the ‘contributions’ were not saved - they have already been spent and 2. the level of contribution was calculated when life expectancy was 65 and people died after short illnesses, rather than spending 20 years or more receiving pensions and increasingly expensive healthcare. The fact that we can’t afford the current pension arrangements is not a moral issue; it’s a mathematical one.
