"You reason well, and your wit is bold, but you are too prejudiced. You do not let your eyes see nor your ears hear, and that which is outside your daily life is not of account to you. Do you not think that there are things which you cannot understand, and yet which are, that some people see things that others cannot? But there are things old and new which must not be contemplated by men's eyes, because they know, or think they know, some things which other men have told them. Ah, it is the fault of our science that it wants to explain all, and if it explain not, then it says there is nothing to explain. But yet we see around us every day the growth of new beliefs, which think themselves new, and which are yet but the old, which pretend to be young, like the fine ladies at the opera.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing.
Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed.
What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community.
At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades.
That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him.
My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

This is great but it's not just color and contrast and shooting on film that explains films like Fright Night. The mid-80s was the height of the horror renaissance when filmmakers like Tom Holland @RealTomHolland leaned into classical tropes intentionally. Folks *wanted* it.
Did Horror Lose THIS After the ’80s? 🧛🎬
Why does Fright Night still feel so special? Lexi celebrates the mix of horror, humor, and coming-of-age storytelling that made ’80s movies so memorable—and questions why newer films struggle to capture that same feeling.
Could shooting on film be part of the magic? Lexi shares why she thinks the look of film adds so much to Fright Night’s charm. Is it nostalgia, the filmmaking, or a little of both?
