When you cut through all the modernist sophistry, words like “Latinizer,” “scholasticism” and “legalism” ultimately just mean “something I don’t agree with.”

Some guy buying the SP500 every month, grilling burgers in his backyard right now, and doing 0 research, will outperform a shocking number of people who spend 8 hours a day analyzing the stock market.

Maybe the character you want to play is locked behind a higher difficulty
Simple: a real company offers benefits and protection that your "Chuck in a Truck" friend doesn't. Assuming he's even licensed in the first place, assuming he could even pass a background check, assuming he shows up sober, assuming he knows how to do a Manual J Heat Load Calculation, assuming he knows how and why to braze with a nitrogen flow, assuming he's going to add a Filter Line Drier and bring everything up to code, assuming he's going to replace the Disconnect Circuit and add Flood Protection, and assuming he isn't going to cut any additional corners because he knows you won't know the difference...
He also has no insurance and no Worker's Compensation, so guess who's on the hook if he gets hurt at your house?
Just like the American government should (but doesn’t), I choose temporary allegiances based on common interests rather than permanent alliances.
For example, I am not a “Groyper” but I 100% support the Groyper War against the Neocon Zionists (aka, the Republican Party). I also side with Democrats against Israel’s genocide.
I am not a Roman Catholic but I will always team up with Roman Catholics against the tens of thousands of Protestant groups on the Eucharist, “Sola Scriptura,” and historical ecclesiological models. I’m not a Protestant but I will always side with Pastor Jim Bob against atheism, paganism, and satanism.
The only exception to this rule is my permanent allegiance to Jesus Christ and the Orthodox Church, from Whom and from which flow the ideas and concepts which regulate and dictate the less eternal and more fleeting coalitions.
