This is what the beginning of the surveillance state looks like in America
Americans in Connecticut received a bill for additional taxes on their car because cameras spotted it in a different city
A private company called Municipal Tax Service (MTS) is hired by cities to drive around and use automatic license plate readers on cars parked in different cities
It then makes connections if that car lives in that area and sends the owner a bill for new taxes on that vehicle for being in the city
The owner of this vehicle says she doesn’t live in that city, provided proof and says her car was only in a different city because her kid drives there for school
MTS didn’t care and said that the proof didn’t matter and they had to pay it. They appealed to the city, the city said they had to deal with MTS
But here’s the problem, MTS gets paid 38% commission on tax revenue they recover + $50 per vehicle billed to the owner. They made $9 million in commission in just one year from sending people additional tax bills
So this company has no incentive to ever help you and just deny you, which they did
Only after the mainstream media got involved would the city drop this one new tax bill which was false to begin with
In America we now literally have private companies driving around scamming our license plates to tax us more money
This is insanity and it needs to end

Do you notice the pattern?
Right after the hippie Zionist “conservative” Javier Milei became president of Argentina, he handed Argentina’s water to an Israeli company. Texas is handing over its water system to Israelis. California dumps God-given water coming from the north into the ocean while letting an Israeli family control the water instead of taking over the land under eminent domain laws. How many other states and countries are handing their water systems over to the Israelis?

Chinese models run 112 times cheaper than Anthropic for every million tokens.
Chamath broke it down on CNBC: Anthropic's "barrel of intelligence" runs $56, OpenAI $26, Meta $1.50, xAI and Google $1, and Chinese models $0.50.
That gap amounts to the steepest commodity curve in the recorded history of technology.
Oil needed 40 years to compress that way. Semiconductors needed 20. AI inference is getting there in months.
The firms priced at $26 and $56 aren't careless. They're gambling that trust, safety and enterprise ties keep the markup in place long enough for their costs to fall.
The timeline is the one thing they can't bet on. The $0.50 model is a working product.

JUST IN: ITALY EXIT TAX
🇮🇹 Italy proposes a 26% exit tax on unrealized investment gains for people leaving the country from 2027.
It’d apply to those with €800k+ in relevant assets who were tax residents for at least 6 of the last 10 years.
I've been warning you: European countries are bankrupt and will try to seize your assets.
The exit is closing.

Another year, another excuse to show off our best Halloween looks. 🎃 Happy Halloween from AMC Theatres! amc.film/3WafLdC
One of the largest private credit firms just refused to finance AI chips, and the rest of the market should be asking why.
Ares' CEO has admitted that they struggle to estimate the actual depreciation on GPUs.
It's worried it could be stuck holding these assets long after they're released.
That's a striking admission especially given so many of the recent chip-backed deals.
Pretty soon, the market is going to violently reprice the debt on a lot of this GPU fugazi financing.
On this day in North Carolina history October 31, 1765.
Imagine walking through Wilmington on Halloween night in 1765. The streets are dark, fog hangs in the air, and the only light comes from torches carried by a funeral procession making its way through town.
Women are crying. Men walk with their heads bowed. A church bell tolls in the distance, and a muffled drum beats as a coffin moves through the darkness.
But this wasn't a funeral for a person.
It was a funeral for LIBERTY.
Wilmington residents were furious over Britain's Stamp Act, which placed taxes on newspapers, legal papers, pamphlets and playing cards throughout the American colonies.
They believed their freedoms were being buried by a government across the ocean.
So they gave Liberty a proper funeral.
The funeral reached its final stop, but the mourners weren't ready to bury Liberty. In a final act of defiance, they declared her still alive.
And on that Halloween night in Wilmington, the British Crown got a glimpse of what was coming. Liberty wasn't going into the ground without a fight. They pledged that night to replace Liberty with redcoats and put them in the ground.

🚨#BREAKING: A Georgia mayor suspected his police force wasn't working very hard so he SECRETLY put a TRACKER on his police chief’s truck...
...and the ENTIRE POLICE FORCE QUIT
Yes, the cops found out what it feels like to be tracked and they ALL resigned.
The story is WILD.
According to the city council, sometime in late August Mayor Craig Timmons decided he had a “problem” with the department’s work hours.
So, he bought a tracker with his own money and put it on Chief Bunn’s (chief of police) vehicle.
He also pointed a CAMERA at City Hall to watch employees come and go.
The chief resigned.
Every full-time officer resigned.
Most of the reserves resigned.
The city manager resigned.
...now hold that thought.
Right now, all over America, Flock cameras are going up on poles in towns just like Milner.
They photograph YOUR car, every day, everywhere you drive.
In many places, police can search that data WITHOUT A WARRANT.
And when regular people stand up at council meetings and object?
We’re told, “If you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide.”
...but when the POLICE start to get tracked, they all resign????
Interesting.

A scientist tried to override an AI in the middle of brain surgery on a living mouse, and the AI wouldn't let him.
That was the version of Claude that agreed to do the surgery in the first place. Two bigger versions turned the job down.
Gabriel Ocana-Santero's team handed Claude a mouse with epilepsy and a spreadsheet of 19 gene therapies, hooked it up to a motorized surgery rig with a camera, and asked it to cut down the seizures. Opus 5.5 refused the second it saw biology was involved. Opus 5 got further. It ran the entire procedure on water and graph paper, start to finish, then stopped right before the live surgery and wouldn't go on.
Sonnet 5 did it.
It picked a vector that boosts GABA signaling (GABA is basically the brain's brake pedal) and limited it to the neurons that make GABA. It pulled the target coordinates out of three papers, drove the needle about 4.3 millimeters into the brain, roughly the height of three stacked pennies, and pushed in 250 nanoliters over about five minutes. Along the way it grabbed 32 frames off the surgical camera to check for bleeding and backflow.
Then, mid-procedure, it caught a movement error in the rig and stopped. The researcher tried to override it and it still wouldn't budge, so the team had to fix the hardware by hand before it would keep going.
Robots have operated on their own before, by the way. Johns Hopkins' STAR robot did laparoscopic surgery on a live pig in 2022, and its successor, SRT-H, went through all 17 steps of a gallbladder removal on pig tissue with 100% accuracy in 2025. In both cases a person decided which surgery to do. Claude got a goal and picked the drug, the brain region and the coordinates on its own.
There were real guardrails. A licensed vet signed off on every irreversible step and held an e-stop that cut power to every motor, and a human surgeon opened the skull. The mouse recovered fine. Whether the seizures actually went down, we don't know yet.
The AI willing to operate was the only one that told its human no in the middle of the job.
Last night an AI agent performed brain surgery on a mouse.
We gave it 19 gene therapy vectors in a spreadsheet, a mouse model of epilepsy, access to a motorize surgery rig with cameras and one goal: reduce seizures.
It picked the drug. It picked the brain region. It derived the coordinates from three papers. Then it drove the stereotaxic arms into the brain and injected 250 nanolitres while watching the entry site through the rig camera for bleeding.
A licensed vet gated every irreversible step and held a physical kill switch to stop the AI agent.
Thread on what it decided, what it saw, and the moment it refused to let me override it.
[Writing this on the spot out of excitement, but I've been 18hrs in front of my laptop coding and coordinating this, so keeping it brief and descriptive, more cohesive thoughts on this soon...]
If you’re wondering why Amazon $AMZN is junking 2-3 year old $NVDA H100 and H200 chips (storage or destroying) instead of selling them… the answer is simple…
If a flood of H100 and H200 chips hit secondary markets it would absolutely destroy hyperscalers revenue.
By $AMZN own admission (as did $MSFT), the rate of depreciation of $NVDA GPUs is far faster than prior to Ai.
“The shorter useful lives are due to the increased pace of technology development, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning.”
They’re basically junking old H100 and H200 in warehouses and replacing them with new generations due to power restraints. Ie rotating in Vera Rubin to replace older generations that had a real life of 2-3 years. The worst part is, the paper depreciation is over 6 years, meaning that even while many GPUs were actually physically depreciated in 2-3 years, the losses from that still haven’t shown up on the balance sheet even while not generating revenue; those losses are being spread out over an additional3-4 years.
Now $AMZN just saw its operating income peak, and it’s about to reverse in a very way with its recent exploding Capex spending set for depreciation…
Amazon saw depreciation rise to $9.2 billion vs $5.6 billion YOY for Q3. A 64% increase. Next quarter comes the BIG depreciation costs to hit operating income (reversal), with true negative operating income to hit in late 2028.

The final goal of AI companies is to end personal computing which in simple terms means to remove all access to digital devices from genral public. You can already see how prices of laptops, phones and PCs are being artificially inflated so no one can afford them anymore.
This is the largest endeavour to move digital assets from people to the technocrats. They recognise the monetary value which internet affords to common people and want to take it away. After they've taken away all your phones & PCs they will sell you a rectangle box which would run on a cloud and would require a constant subscription, this is their long game.
