"Sacred Force Bloodlines" and the only example even implied on-screen before this movie is one family of characters singled out for their taboo status. TLJ is a filmic straw man argument written to dunk on fans for speculating on TFA's mystery boxes.
To be fair, I think it would be far more unbelievable to portray the English and French as getting along with no friction from the start.
Fleur Delacour’s arrival at the Burrow in Half-Blood Prince is framed as a test of Weasley hospitality that the family largely fails. She has already chosen Bill over a return to France, accepted a job at Gringotts, and moved into her future in-laws’ home specifically “to get to know them better before the wedding.” Yet Ginny’s repeated nickname “Phlegm,”
Hermione’s participation in the mockery and Molly’s open skepticism about the engagement create precisely the reception the post describes “Imagine leaving your family, moving into your future in-laws’ home and getting that kind of reception.”
The books never show Fleur demanding deference, they show her enduring the dismissals while still preparing for a life in England, the turning point arrives only after Greyback’s attack, until that night, the Weasleys treat Fleur’s beauty and veela heritage as evidence that her feelings cannot be genuine.
Once she sees Bill’s scars and refuses to abandon him, Molly’s attitude shifts abruptly,as the original text notes, “Fleur Delacour had to watch Bill get mauled before the Weasleys finally understood that she genuinely loved him and that says a LOT about how they saw her.” The narrative itself withholds full acceptance until she has performed visible, public devotion under extreme circumstances an expectation never placed on any pure blood British fiancée in the series.
By Deathly Hallows, Fleur’s practical loyalty is already established long before the wedding.
She participates in the Seven Potters operation, opens Shell Cottage to Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ollivander, and Griphook, and later fights at Hogwarts, none of these actions were required of a French national married into the Order, she could have remained outside the conflict. The post correctly observes that “She wasn’t British and she could’ve stayed out of the war.
She chose to help anyway,” and that “Fleur showed more loyalty to the Weasleys than some of them showed her respect.” The books reward her with survival and a stable marriage, yet they never fully revise the earlier, beautybased underestimation that made those proofs necessary in the first place.
I wonder if Tim Sweeney even knows that itch.io exists
Tim Sweeney is taking another shot at Steam.
The Epic Games CEO claims Valve has “held gaming back for years” by locking PC games into Steamworks’ ecosystem.
Sweeney argues that Steam’s social features make it harder for players on PC to communicate cross-platform while also criticizing Steam’s 30% cut.
However, that claim isn’t completely accurate. Valve’s Steam Datagram Relay can also be used across other platforms.
Shawn would figure it out but Gus would have to be the one to solve it because he would still be alive after Light tries to write 'Ovaltine Jenkins' in the Death Note.
I can think of 2 other non-genderbent Japanese games in the same series that are riffs on the Arthurian Legend.
The good one is the one where Artorias is evil.
I think the nicest thing I can say about the Street Fighter movie is that it at least feels like it was made by genuinely stupid people rather than by people who hate Street Fighter, video games, and you, the audience for liking Street Fighter and video games.
Some days you just get bored an decide to make an underground castle facade, ya know?
Ignore the color inconsistency.

This Orwell quote, and the other often paraphrased as "all art is political," is one of the most abused sentences in the English language.
Orwell means it in the relatively narrow sense that all works of art will contain the political presuppositions of the artist.
Art does not have to be actively or consciously political, but its assumptions - say, about what is right and what is wrong - count as political attitudes.
This is true of everything from War & Peace to Treasure Island.
But most of those who parrot the line today use it to excuse active politicking — the very propaganda Orwell warns against.
If all art is political then it is fine that my work is about my politics, and you are a fool if you reject my politics, because all art is political.
In The Frontiers of Art and Propaganda, Orwell takes aim at precisely this sort of sloppy, motivated reasoning:
"If we look back at the English literature of the last ten years not so much at the literature as at the prevailing literary attitude, the thing that strikes us is that it has almost ceased to be aesthetic.
Literature has been swamped by propaganda. I do not mean that all the books written during that period have been bad. But the characteristic writers of the time... have been didactic, political writers, aesthetically conscious, of course, but more interested in subject-matter than in technique.
And the most lively criticism has nearly all of it been the work of Marxist writers... who look on every book virtually as a political pamphlet and are far more interested in digging out its political and social implications than in its literary qualities in the narrow sense."
Orwell thought the first position - an awareness of art's political assumptions - was good and valuable, because it reminds us that art is of our world, and this understanding helps us spot propaganda when it disguises itself as pure aestheticism.
But he deplored the second position - the conscious politicisation of art, and the view that art must be actively political to be good - "...because it caused countless young writers to try to tie their minds to a political discipline which, if they had stuck to it, would have made mental honesty impossible. The only system of thought open to them at that time was official Marxism...".
Honesty is impossible in such circumstances, he said, because making art the slave of contemporary politics makes it dependent, in the end, on grubby temporal scheming.
The bold Marxist writers who devoted their art to that vision of utopia were totally undone by the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. Art cannot pretend at utopian principles while it sources its morality from the real business of politics. When political art comes into conflict with the needs of ideology, the art, not the ideology, gets sacrificed.
"Just as many writers about 1930 had discovered that you cannot really be detached from contemporary events, so many writers about 1939 were discovering that you cannot really sacrifice your intellectual integrity for the sake of a political creed — or at least you cannot do so and remain a writer."

“The opinion that art should have nothing to do with politics is itself a political attitude.” - George Orwell
“All good art is political! There is none that isn’t. And the ones that try hard not to be political are political by saying, ‘We love the status quo.’ We’ve just dirtied the word ‘politics,’ made it sound like it’s unpatriotic or something… My point is that it has to be both: beautiful and political at the same time. I’m not interested in art that is not in the world.” -Toni Morrison
“All art is political. In tense, fractious times—like our current moment—all art is political. But even during those times when politics and the future of our country itself are not the source of constant worry and anxiety, art is still political. Art lives in the world, and we exist in the world, and we cannot create honest work about the world in which we live without reflecting it.”- Lin Manuel Miranda
People on the reservation list for their #SteamFrame: "I can't believe I might have to wait until 2027."
Me, on the waitlist, having to manually select Roomscale for the 1000000000000th time because Quest doesn't know how to store basic default settings: "I really feel for you."
Big event at the Sanctum world this weekend. Loved the vibe of the world.
