Today, @ARKInvest and @Securitize are bringing the ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) onchain. I’m excited about the launch—and the infrastructure behind it. We used ERC-7540 to model a fund that cannot settle instantly, without hiding the wait offchain. 🧵 xitter.cf/carlosdomingo/status/2…

Steve Kerr says Roger Federer taught his Warriors team the secret to sustained success wasn’t outworking everyone, it was building a life around your craft you never want to escape from “I’ll tell you a great story about Roger Federer. We were playing in China with the Warriors in 2017. Roger was in Shanghai for the Masters tournament, so we invited him to come speak to the team.” “Draymond Green asked him, ‘How do you sustain success? How have you managed to win majors 20 years after you first won one?’ Everyone was expecting him to say, ‘I work harder than everybody,’ the will, all the clichés.” “Roger Federer says, ‘I get up every morning and I make breakfast for my kids. Then I take them to school and drop them off. Then I go practice tennis for about two hours, and I’ve figured out a really good routine where I don’t destroy my body, but I can get all the work in I need.” “‘Then I go have lunch with my wife. In the evening, we cook dinner together. The kids are all home from school. We ask them about school. There’s so much joy in the house. We put them to bed, and then I put my head on the pillow and go, “Man, that was just a great day.” And I’ve been doing that for 20 years.’” “And it was like, yes. That’s it. That’s the formula. That’s what leads to sustained success. He loves tennis. He loves his family. He loves life. It’s not outworking everybody and banging your head against the wall, ‘I’m going to be better than everybody.’ It’s allowing your natural talent to shine through with a work ethic, with a great family life, with perspective, with peace, with mindfulness.” “It’s perspective. It’s joy. It’s passion. It’s mindfulness. It’s an awareness that we are truly lucky. To get the most out of ourselves, it’s our daily rituals and experiences and love and joy.”

Prime brokers and retail platforms like Robinhood and Schwab, etc earn sizable revenue by lending out the stocks that individuals/funds hold in their account. They typically keep 50-85% of the borrow fees, passing only a small share back to you. More broadly, the Securities lending market sees roughly $4.6 trillion in securities on loan globally and generates around $35 billion in revenue, with brokers capturing the majority of that. The gtm for Tokenizing equities will be providing utility with Aave V4. It creates a better model: supply tokenized stocks onchain, earn the full borrow rates directly with real-time transparency, dynamic pricing, no rehypothecation and no middlemen taking the lion’s share.

Just was rereading this report by @Etherealize_io. Their productive money thesis is that ETH uniquely qualifies as an objectively better form of productive money, albeit one that's still widely understood by the market. "Productive money will outcompete dead capital. Over a long enough time horizon, productive assets outperform unproductive ones, because productive assets compound. The only question is how long it takes the rest of the world to figure that out [with ETH]." In the report, they make "the case for ETH as a superior monetary good—and how, if it captures the monetary premium currently held by gold and BTC, the implied long-term price could exceed $250,000 per token." They highlight the combined monetary premium of gold + BTC = $25.5 trillion. If ETH ever captured that premium, distributed across 121 million ETH in circulation, the implied price per ETH would be $211,535. Today, ETH is trading around $1,600, which would require ETH to re-rate 131x in the future.

Announcing Ethlabs: a non-profit R&D lab for Ethereum and ETH Our mission is to make Ethereum the settlement layer of the global economy. The internet became global because shared protocols created a common language between networks. Private systems remained useful, but bounded. Finance is approaching a similar moment. As value, assets, and markets become digital, the world needs shared settlement infrastructure. Ethereum is uniquely positioned to become that shared base layer, the neutral foundation on which users, institutions, and agents can transact without intermediation. What we believe: • We believe credible neutrality matters. Ten years of uptime and the lowest counterparty risk. Ground that cannot be pulled away by any one country, institution, company, or person. • We believe ETH matters. The most valuable, programmable store of value. A decade of broad distribution, deep liquidity in onchain markets, and maximally trustless asset on Ethereum. • We believe DeFi matters. Markets, liquidity, credit, exchange, and coordination, open to anyone. • We believe adoption matters. Principles do not change the world until people benefit from them. We sit between two worlds: real usage from the builders at the frontier, and the protocol that has to support it. We work with users, applications, wallets, L2s, infrastructure teams, institutions, ETH holders, core devs and researchers, then turn what they actually need into protocol work, shared standards, infrastructure, and shipped products. Ethlabs is independent but Ethereum is a shared project. We are one node in a much larger network of stewards. This is the multi-node future. We have spent the better part of the past decade contributing to Ethereum core research and development. We are opinionated and transparent. We move with urgency, learn in public, and course-correct when we’re wrong. We are building a lean, talent-dense team for people who want to do the most important work of their careers: [email protected]

The Azuki TCG mobile app lets you find local tournaments and Learn to Plays near you. When we first launched the app there was only one weekly event, and now there’s quite a few across the US. Ask your local card shop to onboard as a tournament organizer!

Strange take. Why be upset that Azuki is talking about manga, anime, characters and TCG instead of NFTs all the time to grow its IP and reach new audiences? Imagine if Marvel only marketed itself as a comic book publisher, Pokémon as a video game franchise or Disney as an animation studio. None of them spent decades defining and positioning themselves by where they started. They became known for the world they built. All of them expanded far beyond their original medium while still retaining it. Azuki can too. Every brand starts somewhere. Azuki is still a very young franchise when compared to the cultural behemoths above. Coming from the NFT industry that is extremely small and not widely adopted in comparison to gaming, movies and comics. Important thing is that Azuki still consistently innovates, iterates and improves their web3 infra. Inspiring other NFT brands even today. Collector profiles system, holder IP licensing in the anime and TCG, global holder events with Garden tour are great examples. Can they do better? Absolutely. Should they keep expanding the IP and reaching new audiences? Absolutely. Serving collectors and expanding the brand are complementary goals, not contradictory ones. Let the builders build.
