Reading books and materials that go beyond what is required is always a good starting point. Being exposed to ideas in the wide world, you will tend to develop a hunger for more and more knowledge.

Sarcopenia (excessive muscle size, quality, and functionality with aging) is highly preventable.
New systematic review & network analysis added to the extensive evidence base.
Many ways to get there, but resistance training + sufficient protein intake is an excellent approach.
Paper Conclusion: High-certainty evidence supports that resistance and balance training combined with protein-based nutritional supplementation as the most effective intervention for improving muscle strength, muscle mass, and physical function in individuals with sarcopenia. We recommend combining RBT with protein and amino acid supplementation as an optimal strategy when feasible.

Underrated life advice: Nobody cares. When you’re winning, nobody cares. When you’re losing, nobody cares. It doesn’t mean nobody loves you, it just means nobody cares about your life as much as you do. It just means that you are in control. It’s on you. Nobody cares. Go do it.

Protein ingestion stimulates mTOR & IGF-1, which are associated with cancer... can't eat protein
Carbohydrate ingestion increases insulin, glucose, and inflammation, which are risks for type 2 diabetes... can't eat carbs
Fats ingestion impairs flow-mediated dilation which raises the risk of cardiovascular disease... can't eat fat
Guess I'll try to sit in the sun, photosynthesize and hope for the best 😅

[NEW STUDY]
If you’re on Ozempic, Mounjaro or Wegovy be careful‼️
There is a 2x increase in Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration if you’re on this medicine for 6+ months.
This study had over 46,000 patients who were on to GLP-1 RAs for 6 months or longer.
The average age was 66.2 years, and 46.6% were women.
The incidence of nAMD was higher among the exposed cohort than among the unexposed cohort.
Conclusion: In this cohort study, the use of GLP-1 RAs among patients with diabetes was associated with a 2-fold higher risk of incident nAMD development than among similar patients with diabetes who did not receive a GLP-1 .
What is Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration (nAMD)? It’s also known as wet AMD, it is a chronic, progressive eye disorder that affects the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, central vision.
In neovascular AMD, abnormal blood vessels (neovascularization) grow from the choroid layer beneath the retina into the macula. These vessels are fragile and prone to leaking blood and fluid, which damages the retinal cells, causing:
•Distortion of vision (metamorphopsia)
•Central vision loss
•Scotomas (blind spots)
Symptoms:
•Blurred or wavy central vision
•Difficulty recognizing faces
•Straight lines appearing bent
•Central dark spots in vision (scotomas)
Peripheral vision is typically spared.
Prognosis:
•Without treatment: rapid central vision loss over weeks to months
•With timely anti-VEGF therapy: vision can be stabilized or improved in many patients
Take home point: Like any medication made in a lab, there are risks and side effects that need to be weighed against the benefits of the medicine.
Older adults (60+) are likely at much higher risk for developing nAMD, but I’m assuming with certain physicians and lobbyists pushing for GLP1s starting as early as 6 years old, the side effects and risks are going to 📈.
Understand the risks of each medication before you put the medicine into your body.
Understand all the risks before you make your decision.
More studies are needed for younger populations as this medication has been pushed hard over the past 2+ years.

Don’t just ask if a coach is certified. Plenty of letters can be bought with minimal effort and still go next to a name. Ask where they’ve coached, who they’ve developed, and what results they’ve produced. Don’t avoid hard questions just because the answers are uncomfortable.

Does nicotine actually have benefits?
Yes‼️
I’ve been wearing a 7 mg nicotine patch for the past 3 weeks and I can say I have more mental clarity and energy than before I started wearing it.
I was genuinely surprised.
They’re pretty cheap ($0.80/day) and have basically none of the issues associated with smoking.
Here’s the Benefits of Nicotine:
1. Cognitive Enhancement:
2. Neuroprotective Effects
3. Anti-inflammatory Properties
4. Mood Enhancement
5. Improvement in Visual Attention
Nicotine also helps with healthy aging
1. NAD Homeostasis & Aging
2. Telomerase Activity & Cellular Senescence
3. Neuroprotection & Neurodegenerative Diseases
4. Cognitive Function
I break each of these down below and provide the research study links as well.
This is something that I’ve also seen help with binding to the COVID spike protein in the body as well. So it may potentially help with long COVID symptoms as well.
I view this as another way to optimize our brain/body function and help with mental clarity.
