“Negative experiences without teaching kill morale.”
This is such an important coaching lesson.
Players are going to fail. They are going to make mistakes.
The question: What do we do with it?

The SEC has failed to reach the national championship game 3 years in a row. It got 5 CFP bids last year.
The SEC finished 4-10 in bowl games last year. Two of those wins came against other SEC teams.

One of the most famous games of the 21st century in CFB. Today it would be a “meaningless bowl game”. The sport peaked during the BCS. But yeah let’s just keep expanding the playoffs

This is slop. Your favorite team has 20 transfers in/out every year. USC-Rutgers and Clemson-Cal are both conference games. Playoff teams with 3 losses. TV broadcast is 70% gambling ads. College Gameday has Pat McAfee interviewing Ted Cruz. Even Herbstreit’s weird now.
Game gone
NEW: College Football Playoff 24-team expansion talks will continue this week with meetings in Chicago, @PeteNakos reports.
Momentum is building for a 24-team field, with the ACC, Big 12 and Notre Dame supporting it and the SEC open to it.

How is this not a bigger story?
"The "Philadelphia Inquirer" found dangerous chemicals in the astroturf of the now-demolished Veterans Stadium.
Six Phillies who played on that turf, Tug McGraw, Darren Daulton, John Vukovich, John Oates, Ken Brett, and David West have died of a rare and aggressive brain cancer. The six players all died in their 40's or 50's, roughly three times the rate of the average adult population.
Even more alarming was their mutual diagnosis of glioblastoma.
The Phillies sold pieces of turf in sealed 4 x 4" bags.
The "Inquirer" purchased four of those on eBay.
Samples analyzed by two separate labs found 16 types of dangerous chemicals in the turf.
They are referred to as “forever chemicals” because they don’t break down and can last in the human body for years.
The US federal government estimates that 12,000 artificial turf fields containing PFAS or “forever chemicals” exist in USA.

And still no updates on this story!!!

You wake up
Your husband looks young, the same mustache he used to have over twenty years ago
There are voices in the kitchen
You sit and listen, you can make out one, two… three, three little voices all the way in the kitchen
There is the smell of pancakes in the air, along with some bacon, you are hungry
You look down, your hands, so young
As soon as you walk into the kitchen little voices all cry out your name “mama, mama!!” Hugs filled the air along with sticky syrup hands, but you do not care
By the sink there he stands, your husband
Tall, full head of blonde hair, and you cannot help but hug him. His body feels so strong, filled with youth, you take his smell in, and you stand there taking in the warmth, listening to the children arguing over who gets the last piece of bacon, watching their little feet run across the kitchen floor, memorizing everything, because this ordinary so unimportant Saturday is what you wish you could go back to the most
And then you wake up, life has gone by, you are old, the house is empty, the children are grown, your body aches
And you finally know, you finally understand that at the end of life you will not wish to have had more promotions, to have gone back for one more day of work, to of had more time to clean the house, for one more day of school, for errands, for anything else besides a slow Saturday morning where the air smells like pancakes, and the house is filled with little voices, and you are woken up to the small bodies and the smell of the little heads you love most in the entire world.
An extraordinary life is made up of ordinary days. Of a summer breeze, and small hands, of cold cheeks you kiss in the autumn afternoons, of a steady hand that holds yours, of the wonderful miracle that is having everyone you love, all with you under the same roof.

▪️“Stop Series” Progression
▪️Curved Sprints
▪️Team COD Races
As athletes ramp up and get closer to Fall camp, it’s important to be mindful of the movements & volume they’re being exposed to in June, July.
Create adaptations & feel at lower velocities - Progress to faster velocities, more volume, and more reactionary based exercises.

🚨 Female Athletes: Are You Eating Enough to Perform at Your Best?
This sample fueling plan is a great reminder that success in sport isn't just about training harder—it's about fueling smarter.
Too many female athletes are underfueling, skipping meals, fearing carbohydrates, or relying on supplements instead of building a strong nutrition foundation. The result? Low energy, poor recovery, decreased performance, increased injury risk, and missed opportunities to reach their potential.
Creatine is one of the most researched supplements available and can be a valuable tool for many athletes—but supplements should never replace proper nutrition.
For more than 15 years, I've worked with athletes of all ages, from youth sports to collegiate and professional levels, helping them understand exactly what to eat, when to eat, and how to fuel for strength, performance, recovery, and long-term health.
If you're a coach, athletic director, dance studio owner, sports organization, or parent group looking for a nutrition presentation that empowers athletes with practical, evidence-based strategies, I'd love to help.

What I Eat in a Day as a Sports Dietitian
People often ask what I eat to support my training, recovery, body composition, and overall health.
For context:
🏋️ Strength train 4–5 days per week
🚶♀️ Average 15,000 steps daily
🏃♀️ Run approximately 10-15 mi/week
📊 145 lbs, 5'9", 17% body fat
💪 Aim for about 150 grams of protein daily
Today's meals included:
-Eggs
-Pumpkin protein smoothie
-Sweet potato
-Asparagus
-Steak
-Chicken thigh
-Blueberries
-Banana
-Whey protein
-Greek yogurt
-Cauliflower
-Carrots
-Ground turkey
-Extra-virgin olive oil
Why these foods?
✅ High-quality protein supports muscle repair, recovery, and performance.
✅ Fruits and vegetables provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that support health and training adaptations.
✅ Healthy fats from extra-virgin olive oil support hormone function and help reduce inflammation.
✅ Carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables help fuel workouts, recovery, and daily activity.
No detoxes.
No cleanses.
No crash diets.
Just consistent intake of nutrient-dense foods, adequate protein, quality carbohydrates, healthy fats, and plenty of movement.

I genuinely think a lot of millennials are reaching the same conclusion at the same time.
We grew up watching technology make life better every year. Cell phones. iPods. Smartphones. An app for everything. It felt like the future was arriving right in front of us, and we couldn’t wait for what came next.
Then somewhere along the way, it changed.
Everything became a subscription. Social media became algorithms. Every day feels like another once-in-a-lifetime event. The things that were supposed to save us time somehow ended up demanding more of our attention than ever.
We were sold convenience.
What we got was a world that feels faster, louder, more expensive, and somehow less human.
And that’s why so many people I know dream about a completely different life now. Not more technology. Not more optimization.
Just a quiet job, a flip phone, a small town, and a place where life feels real again.
