“They removed subsidy and threw Nigerians into poverty, yet this government has borrowed more money than all previous governments combined since the beginning of this Republic. They owe everybody, but Nigerians are yet to see the impact of these borrowings. We are now told that the President will not come here to campaign. Since he became President, has he even spent one night here? The President has over spent 260 days travelling outside Nigeria, yet he cannot spend 36 days travelling around Nigeria.” — His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, at the Palace of His Eminence, the Obong of Calabar.

I thought you inherited a lot of real estate from your parents Sir
When I first arrived in the United States as a young man, I drove a taxi to earn money for my education. I even had to postpone starting school for several months to save enough. When I eventually got to Chicago, I worked different jobs to support myself and pay my way through university. I know what it means to worry about tuition, accommodation and how to make ends meet while pursuing an education. Those experiences have stayed with me. I know what education made possible in my own life, and I believe every Nigerian child deserves that same opportunity, regardless of where they are born or what their parents can afford. This is one reason education remains a major priority of our Renewed Hope administration. Through NELFUND, we have provided over ₦372 billion in student loans for institutional fees and upkeep, helping young Nigerians remain in school and pursue their education. Our technical and vocational education programme has attracted over 2.8 million applications. We have rehabilitated 38 technical colleges, while students in federal and selected state technical colleges now benefit from free school fees, boarding, textbooks and uniforms. We have reached a new agreement with ASUU, providing for a 40% increase in academic staff remuneration and measures to improve stability in our universities. A four-year course must take four years. Our young people deserve to complete their education on time and get on with their lives. Promise made, Promise Kept In medical education, we are investing ₦110 billion in rehabilitating 24 medical schools. Annual nursing enrolment has increased from 28,000 to 115,000, while medical and dental enrolment has risen from 5,000 to 12,000. Nigeria needs more doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, and we must build the capacity to train them here at home. Over one million children who were previously out of school have been returned to learning. We are investing in teacher development, expanding educational opportunities for girls, and implementing a new national curriculum that restores Nigerian History to our classrooms. Our children must know where we have come from, understand the country they belong to, and be prepared to take responsibility for its future. I commend the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa @DrTunjiAlausa, the Minister of State, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad @Suwaiba_Said, and the entire education team @NigEducation for their dedication to this important work. I am particularly pleased that the team has developed an interactive A–Z of the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), bringing together the reforms, programmes, achievements and opportunities across our education system. I invite every Nigerian to visit edu4pbat.ng and explore the A–Z of NESRI. If you are a parent, find out what opportunities are available for your children. If you are a student, explore the programmes you can benefit from. If you are a teacher, see what support is available. And if something is not working as it should in your community, I want to hear about it. Your feedback will help us identify problems and address them. Our journey from reform to opportunities and shared prosperity must begin with education. The circumstances of a child’s birth should never determine the limits of their ambition. Our responsibility is to give every Nigerian child a fair chance to fulfil their potential. We have more work to do, and I am determined to see it through. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President

Sometimes, when I look back at some of the things that have happened in this nation and how corruption has always fought back, I just shake my head. Let me tell you an interesting story. In 2005, Adolphus Wabara was the Senate President of Nigeria under the administration of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. During the preparation and approval of the 2005 budget by the National Assembly, the Senate Committee on Education discovered that the Ministry of Education's budget was very bogus. So, what did the committee do? The Senate Committee threatened to slice or block the budget allocation for the Ministry of Education. To ensure that the ministry's budget was passed intact or inflated, the then Minister of Education, Professor Fabian Osuji, mobilised ₦55 million. According to Professor Osuji, the ₦55 million was not a bribe but rather a necessary "welfare package" demanded by lawmakers to protect the education sector. Now, you will ask, how was Professor Osuji able to mobilise the money? Well, to raise the money, Professor Osuji directed ministry officials to extract ₦35 million from votes under their control. Because that was not enough, he went further to secure an additional ₦20 million illegal loan from the National Universities Commission (NUC). President Olusegun Obasanjo later received intelligence about the transaction. In a dramatic, televised national broadcast in March 2005, Obasanjo unmasked the actors and declared their actions a betrayal of public trust. But President Olusegun Obasanjo did not stop there. He summarily dismissed Fabian Osuji, while the Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, was forced to resign his leadership position. The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) subsequently arraigned them alongside several other lawmakers. Interestingly, in 2010, in a controversial ruling, the Court of Appeal, presided over by Justice Mary Peter-Odili, quashed the 15-count charge against Wabara, Osuji and others. According to the court, the charges were "frivolous and baseless" and failed to establish a prima facie case. The court also criticised Obasanjo's broadcast as an executive "trial by media" that prejudiced the case. But the story did not end there. In 2013, the case got to the Supreme Court, and the judgment of the Court of Appeal presided over by Justice Mary Odili was overturned. The Supreme Court held that Osuji's statements and the evidence presented were more than enough to warrant a trial and ordered an accelerated retrial at the lower court. Interestingly, when the case returned to the High Court in 2019, Justice S.E. Aladetoyinbo discharged and acquitted Adolphus Wabara and two other co-defendant senators. Why? Because, after 14 years of trial, the ICPC could no longer produce witnesses to testify. With the witnesses unavailable, the ICPC applied to withdraw the case, leaving the court with no choice but to acquit the defendants under Section 355 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015. Nigeria has always been a case of the more you look, the less you see. I am Ekene Aninze, Esq.

The handlers of NELFUND claim that they have disbursed a total of N373bn to almost 1.7m tertiary institution students. Nigeria presently has about 2m tertiary institution students. That's about 85% of Nigerian students. There is no way this can be true and students don't want Tinubu back. He should look at those figures closely and perhaps, order out a forensic audit on them. He'll discover the truth. End.

URGENT PUBLIC APPEAL I never imagined having to make a post like this, but I desperately need your help. On October 31, while covering a wedding at Oriental Hotel, Lagos, my bag was stolen from inside the bride's room. The bag contained my MacBook Pro M1 and FOUR external hard drives holding approximately FIVE weddings yet to be delivered to my clients. These are not just files. They are people's once in a lifetime memories, months of hard work and my livelihood. Thankfully, we have obtained CCTV footage showing the individual entering, taking my bag and leaving the hotel. I'm offering a N500,000 REWARD for credible information leading to the identification of this individual and recovery of my belongings through the appropriate authorities. Please you can send a message or call this number for any update 09033892670 Please guys help me repost abeg, this is very important please. 🙏🏾

APC is the only reason you’re working like a donkey with nothing to show for it. Your father was not more hardworking than you when he was your age. He had just one job and was able to pay his bills comfortably and save from it because he had a government that worked. You’re working 3 jobs and you can’t boast of a million naira in savings. He comfortably started a family and had children in his 20s but you’re 30+ unmarried and scared of the financial burden of having children. Please be wise, this government needs to go. Let’s vote them out.

I have been to this man’s house in Oakbrook IL. I have been invited for his yearly Salah parties. Dr. Alausa is a brilliant Nephrologist with a successful practice in suburban Chicago. I respect his relationship with the President which is long standing. I am disappointed by his performance as Minister under this administration because I expected more. Dr. Alausa, I am in Chicago right now, tell me one of Tinubu’s classmates that you have met in Chicago so I can go get a video interview with him. Just one since you have met many.
