Heartbroken to say my dad passed away this morning. He was the most amazing man I’ve ever met. When he was young he worked with Dick Clark at WFIL radio. Then he went on to be an on-air voice for WRTI and WHYY. I wouldn’t be who I am without him. I already miss him so much.

Today, on the eve of the 88th anniversary of Kristallnacht, protesters plan to target Philadelphia restaurants whose owners they claim are Jewish and therefore “Zionists who support Israel.”

It is alarming that Congressman elect Chris Rabb has been silent on the “Boycott ride” tomorrow in Rittenhouse.
This antisemitic bike ride in Philadelphia is in his district.
Why hasn’t Rabb put out any statement or commented on this?

I said this earlier, but step one is expanding the House.
There was a lot of post-2024 commentary about the Dems having a 'Senate Problem' but I think it's more accurate to say they have a 'House Problem', or a 'Keeping the House for More Than Four Years Problem'

It is heartbreaking to see antisemitism in my hometown. I was born in Wyncote, near Philadelphia, and it makes me angry and ashamed to see hatred tolerated there.
The numbers show this is not an abstract concern. The Anti-Defamation League recorded 465 antisemitic incidents across Pennsylvania in 2024, an 18% increase over 2023. It tracked 189 incidents in Philadelphia and 51 in Montgomery County. These reports include harassment, vandalism, and assault; they are not all classified as crimes. (adl.org, philadelphia.adl.org)
Hateful expression harms more than its immediate target. In a 2025 survey of Jewish Americans, 79% said they were concerned about antisemitism, and 52% said they had worried about their personal safety because of their identity. Nearly half reported taking steps to increase their security. A research review also found that exposure to hate is associated with worse psychological well-being, more negative stereotypes, and less trust between groups. (philadelphia.adl.org, pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov)
It takes me back to the racism I experienced in the 1960s: signs throughout the South declaring that Black people could be refused service, along with separate “white” and “colored” signs on bathrooms and drinking fountains,”no niggers”. I remember what that hatred looked and felt like. We cannot accept it in any form, directed at any people.
I wish I could be there to stand with those protesting HATE. I am asking elected officials and other leaders in Philadelphia: Where are the clear statements condemning antisemitism? When hateful language is excused or repeated, it can make hostility seem acceptable and deepen fear and division. Leaders should speak plainly and consistently: antisemitism and hate have no place in our communities.
What the hell? We have to speak up.

UPDATE: The Jewish community in Philadelphia is hosting a food crawl to support the Jewish businesses that are being targeted by a "boycott ride" on Sunday.
Sunday is the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, making the timing of the boycott particular nasty.
The food crawl and the boycott ride are scheduled for the same place and time.
But with the support of police and elected officials, the restaurant owners are for Sunday.

It’s insane that Josh Shapiro’s incredible feat last night isn’t being more widely discussed.
The latest figures show that he won by 22.1 points (!) in Pennsylvania, a state Trump won two years ago. That is a larger margin than any other swing-state gubernatorial race…a significantly larger margin. Under his leadership, PA Dems have a trifecta for the first time since 1993!
The numbers below, among those specific voter groups, are just staggering for a Democratic politician. Regardless of concerns about how he would perform in a primary, Shapiro has certainly demonstrated an ability to build a broad electoral coalition that extends well beyond the traditional Democratic base. He would make a very strong general-election candidate.

Man...parsing the PA exits...Josh Shapiro won:
48% of non-college whites
39% of rural voters
29% of white evangelicals
46% of military vets
60% of union households
36% of non-MAGA Rs
Obvious caveats apply. But if a Dem prez nominee sniffs those numbers, we're talking 430+ EVs.
