I tested @MakoMonad ,a prediction market on Monad.
I explored the platform, funded my test wallet, placed bets, checked charts, and tested different user flows.
Here's what worked, what I observed, and what I think could improve the experience.
A Web3 QA breakdown 🧵
Day 174.....
day 174 of posting, until Monad TVL hits $5 billion.
current TVL: $963.66M
everyone is watching the price. i'm watching the TVL.
see you at $5B 💜
i'll be here posting, building and researching until we get there 🟣

it's interesting how the meaning of a "fast" blockchain is changing
high TPS and quick finality used to be the main benchmarks
now it's also about how fast a team can ship features, adapt to new challenges and improve security
Monad is fast

What if changing your account's security didn't require changing the entire blockchain?
That's one reason I find @Starknet 's programmable accounts interesting.
To understand why, we first need to understand what an account does.
Whenever you make a transaction on a blockchain, the network needs a way to determine whether you authorised it. Digital signatures help prove that a transaction was authorised by the appropriate account.
But cryptography doesn't stand still. As technology advances, some of the mathematical assumptions behind today's security methods may face new challenges. Quantum computing is one reason researchers are investigating alternatives to certain widely used cryptographic methods.
Here's where Starknet's account design becomes interesting.
On Starknet, accounts are smart contracts. They define the rules used to validate transactions, including how signatures are checked. Because these rules are programmable, developers can implement different signature-verification methods through account logic without requiring a network-wide protocol upgrade.
Think about your phone for a moment.
Imagine if the security system on your phone could never be updated. Even if a better security method became available, you might have no straightforward way to adopt it. You would be stuck with the original system, regardless of how technology changed.
Now imagine that the security mechanism could be updated independently of the entire device infrastructure. That flexibility would give you more options when new security requirements emerged.
Programmable accounts offer a related kind of flexibility in blockchain systems. They provide a way for developers to change how an account verifies signatures without requiring the entire network to change its protocol.
Why does that matter for Starknet's post-quantum preparations?
If a signature method becomes unsuitable for future security requirements, supporting an alternative could be an important part of adapting. Programmable accounts provide a mechanism for introducing different signature-verification methods as part of that process.
However, there's a distinction we shouldn't overlook.
The ability to introduce a new signature method doesn't mean every existing account automatically adopts it.
Existing accounts may need to be migrated or replaced. Wallets must support the relevant methods, keys must be managed securely, and any new implementation needs careful testing. Programmability makes adaptation more flexible, but it doesn't remove every migration challenge.
My take is that preparing for future cryptographic threats involves more than finding a stronger security method. It also means thinking about how people and applications can adopt that method without requiring changes to everything around them.
That's what makes Starknet's programmable account model worth understanding. It offers flexibility at the account level, which can be valuable as cryptographic requirements evolve.
It is one part of preparing for quantum threats, not proof that the entire Starknet network is already quantum-safe.
The question I find interesting is this: when security requirements change, how easily can a blockchain's users move to a different method of protecting their accounts?

Personal update 💜
This year has been really hard for me. So many things have happened that are completely out of my control.
My mother had heart surgery, but thankfully, she is doing well now.
Four days ago, I got a call that changed everything. My father had a stroke, and he is not doing well. I've been spending every day with him in the hospital, and together with my family, we're trying to find the best possible solution and hoping for a positive outcome.
I'll still be around and as active as I can be over the next few days, but I probably won't be as active as I used to be.
Sometimes, we get so caught up in work, money, projects, and everyday problems that we forget what truly matters. We put so many things ahead of our families until something bad happens and reminds us how fragile life really is.
Take this as a reminder to go hug your loved ones and tell them you love them. Don't wait for something bad to happen to remind you how important they are.
Please don't worry or stress about me. I'll be okay. 💜
Stay healthy, take care of yourselves, and remember to appreciate the people you love. Love you all. 💜
