February 22nd, 2025, at the end of the clip that's my stupid ass blocking OpenAI and getting hauled in a police car.
I thought this was going to do something. I thought this would lead to an explosion in peaceful, nonviolent copycats. Nonviolent, peaceful, civil disobedience. But no news station would broadcast the footage.
It caused nothing. We didn't keep the ball rolling. The ringleader at the time immediately pulled everything into side projects and "get famous quick" plans that went nowhere. The presentations stopped. The rate of posters being put up slowed to a crawl.
The ringleader wasted all our money on crap that failed, mainly food and beverages to "entice" people. I tried to stop him from wasting money but I could only go so far before being told to shut up or leave.
The ringleader began locking everyone in daily AI safety screaming debates instead of letting us put up posters and go to huge events to recruit potential new members, of course this wouldn't mean much because he refused to let us hand out anything except esoteric, absurd sounding nonsense and giant red squares with Stop AI on them.
I tried getting arrested at Palantir, The Forge, Anthropic and Google. I wanted to get us more cred and attention. I was told over and over that I was kicked out if I did such a thing, because we are focusing on OpenAI "until they stop". We couldn't even have a normal non-arrest protest anywhere else because, again, OpenAI was "the most likely to build ASI".
Yes, I wanted to get arrested and I didn't get arrested because Kirchner told me I was kicked out if I didn't want to do it anywhere else, even though everyone who gets arrested there gets a stay away order. No one would come back, and Kirchner forbid protests anywhere else, so the arrests dried up.
Only 1 red Stop AI shirt design, no white shirts, no gray shirts, no black shirts, NO PINS, NO NECKLACES, NO BRACELETS, NO TIES, NO KEYCHAINS.
I wanted to reach people starting them off discussing the water and art and cheating and basic normal AI problems, then over time get them to believe ASI was a serious threat. Kirchner refused any such thing.
"ONLY TALK ABOUT SUPERINTELLIGENCE ON THE FLYER. ONLY TALK ABOUT SUPERINTELLIGENCE AT THE PROTEST. SHUT UP ABOUT THE MILITARY, COPYRIGHT, SCHOOLS AND CLIMATE CHANGE. I DONT CARE IF PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT. I DONT CARE IF WE LOOK REASONABLE I WILL FIGHT EVEN IF I'M HOMELESS AND SCREAMING ON THE CORNER WITH A SIGN!"
I was forced to listen to the idiotic ramblings of how we would bury $10,000 in Mexico and get somebody to fly to Switzerland to open a bank account if things got bad enough. I tried to tell him Switzerland has been a honeypot since the 1970s but he always failed to internalize that fact into memory. We never buried anything, anyway.
I tried so hard to turn the ship around but I couldn't get past him. He started this while he was homeless. He lost so much money. He got arrested first. He sacrificed. His phone number and email were tied to every account.
I stuck around, hoping that by New Year's Day of 2026 he would wake up to the fact that he really didn't know everything and he should let other people try other things. But in November of 2025, he flipped out and destroyed everything. I left with $10K+ of dollars in debt that I continue to pay off.
That's how the most important thing I ever did in my life lead to nothing. No movement, no inspirational true story, no international protests. Now, in August of 2026, it's mainstream knowledge that GPT and Claude break out and hack companies on the regular.
The longer I live, the more I understand how much of a scumbag I am. It's not like I feel I'm a rolemodel. I'm out of money and second chances. I've been hoping somebody else can wake up the people but no one has stepped to the plate.

BLACK OCTOBER UPDATE: Hackers have shut down a major hospital network in New Mexico.
Patients urged to stay away. Cancelled surgeries. 30+ clinics.
The attack began at 11:30am.
Employees saw their computers suddenly taken over: "You have been compromised."
AP/KRQE: "One part of a message that could be heard from a computer voice told employees hackers had students’ and employees’ personal and identifiable information along with Social Security numbers, private documents, emails, and more.
KRQE has learned internal communications also told employees to shut off and unplug computers, while also moving to paper processes."
The entire state "left without an emergency department capable of treating the most serious injuries."
The attack started around 11:30 a.m. and forced UNMH to send all ambulance traffic to other hospitals.
"The University of New Mexico Health System told people not to show up at its main hospital in Albuquerque and canceled appointments at its more than 30 clinics.
Multiple UNM Health System employees said they heard messages across their computers while working late Monday morning that claimed to have stolen student and employee data and patient information.
The hospital network conducts about 900,000 outpatient visits and receives 100,000 emergency room visits each year, according to its website. It operates the state’s only Level 1 trauma center."

anthropic is massively underplaying the recent security breach. i'm hearing cathedral achieved full administrator access of the slack workspace (see every message, log in as arbitrary users) where literally every single research secret is contained
to those unfamiliar: Ant & OAI keep literally everything in Slack. it sounds exactly the same incident that happened to OpenAI in 2023, where OpenAI was hacked by a random guy who got access to an access token from an external app service

🚨BREAKING: JAPAN WILL ASK EVERY CITIZEN TO STOCK FOOD, WATER AND TOILET SUPPLIES FOR AT LEAST 3 DAYS, IDEALLY 1 WEEK.
Britain, France, Germany and the EU have already told their people to keep emergency supplies ready.
Here's what's happening:
→ THE REQUEST: Disaster minister Goshi Hosono will issue an "emergency request" to every citizen, the central ministries and all prefectures on November 2.
→ 1 WEEK: He wants food, water and toilet supplies at home for "at least 3 days" and, "if possible, 1 week."
→ ON YOUR OWN: He wants every home able to get by "even without public help."
→ THE THREATS: a Nankai Trough quake, a quake right under Tokyo, giant quakes along the Japan and Chishima trenches, and a Mount Fuji eruption.
→ DAY ONE: Japan is LAUNCHING a new Disaster Management Agency that same day, and the request will come on its first day.
Think about this.
People in Japan saw the headline and asked online if World War 3 was coming.
The minister's own list is earthquakes and a volcano.
In 6 days, every citizen in Japan gets the same ask: 3 days at least, 1 week if possible.
Follow me. I'll post the full request on November 2, the day it goes out.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Japan’s government has long advised households to keep at least 3 days, and ideally about 1 week, of food and water at home for natural disasters such as earthquakes. This appears in the national Basic Disaster Management Plan and in Tokyo’s official preparedness guidance.

Sam Altman's one-person company prediction is coming true. Anthropic just bought one. The founder of Mithril Medicine used Claude to take a muscular dystrophy antibody treatment from concept to proof-of-principle in mice in 18 months, with just himself, Claude, and part-time consultants. The technical report is great. I will quote:
'The week opened with the handover of two cell-based assays, cell adhesion and flow cytometry, within our team, while eleven questions remained open with the assay CRO. In two sentences, one of us asked Claude to review the latest emails between the outgoing assay lead and the assay CRO and to recommend next steps for the handover, and gave it the link to the handover folder. Claude returned a bottom line after 96s and a full plan with five drafted emails after 18 min. For the full plan it read six email threads, the handover folder, two slide decks and two reports, all in the mailbox and file store to which we had given it access. Four working days later, nine of the eleven questions had an answer in writing and the other two had been left to pilot experiments. The adhesion screen was thereby set out in writing. The CRO drew the plate map to the format that our team had requested, Claude compiled the run order and the material calculation from the production data, and one of us reviewed and approved them.
On day 4, the production CRO delivered its data package, a report of 341 pages, which one of us forwarded to Claude in two sentences, with the request to review it, share observations and recommend next steps. Claude returned a bottom line after 2 min 40s and, once it had read every page, a visual synthesis of all 113 constructs after 7 min 53s. The synthesis arranged the constructs on the grid of 14 by 8 arms. Claude marked 82 constructs for screening as is, seven for additional polishing, and the 24 constructs of three laminin-binding arms to be held back from the cell-based assays on production criteria. Each of the 113 constructs thus had a proposed next step in less than 8 min.
Claude had recommended binding kinetics for all 113 con-structs, and on day 7 one of us challenged this plan. Claude defended it within 27s, arguing that affinity would show whether the three arms merit further work. One of us overruled this recommendation and set the three arms aside on production criteria. Their material remains in storage. Four minutes later, Claude had revised its memo, the working page, the run order and three unsent drafts from 113 to 89 constructs. It had also applied the ruling to three dependent steps in the unsent drafts, each flagged for our veto. The exchange took 7 min 36s from challenge to new plan, and every affected email was still an unsent draft. After the ruling, eight emails drafted by Claude went out on the same day to three CROs and a consultant.
Over the whole week, Claude drafted 17 emails, each in answer to a request from one of us, and we sent 12 of them, each after editing. With its drafts, Claude listed 41 points, such as tube fills, shipping conditions, recipients and assay settings, for which it had found no written statement of ours, so that we could confirm, change or strike each before sending. We kept some, struck others and changed one. Among the passages that we kept were proposals for controls. One draft proposed a comparison of polished and unpolished material on one sensor chip, to size the error that impurities cause in the rest of the panel. Another requested a buffer control diluted like the most dilute sample, so that any effect of the buffer appears at its largest. These proposals concerned the measurement of constructs that had already been produced, and each reached a CRO only after one of us had reviewed and approved it.

Although this is indeed a spectacular result, that measly log-factor doesn't make much difference in practice: for n=1000, it replaces 2^1000 by 2^380, which is still way more than the number of atoms in our universe, meaning that a universe-sized computer may be unable to solve such a problem even if if we gave it billions of years:
