The ranking members of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees have written a letter to President Trump asking whether he has been soliciting advice from Grok in order to help carry out his official duties as President of the United States.
They also demanded that he preserve any prompts sent to Grok, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, as well as outputs in response to those prompts, that were 'submitted to AI chatbots in carrying out your constitutional, statutory, or other official or ceremonial duties.'
The letter was provided by Politico.

apocalypse early warning system has detected unusually high jet activity readings over the past two days. this may be due to changes in our data provider rather than an actual increase in activity. i'm investigating and will provide an update within 24 hours ♡
You're not able to afford GPU, RAM and Storage because Sam Altman thinks that its quite terrible to have DRAM sitting in your computer
sam: local inference is a terrible allocation of scarce resources
“a lot of people want local inference, and somehow they assume that the problem is solved now because we have open-source models, we're going to be able to run them on our computers, and so we're not going to need all the stuff in the data centre
but from a global allocation perspective, actually it's quite terrible to have everybody, like, have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer and being used five percent of the time
you want maximum utilisation in the cloud if you're trying to deal with this very supply-constrained environment
somehow many people's intuition is the opposite of that”

🚨995 Polymarket accounts just got drained through Polymarket's own website. Let me explain how, because this one should scare everyone in crypto.
No fake link. No shady airdrop. These people were on the real Polymarket dot com on Thursday.
Polymarket's site loaded a script from DebugBear, a tool whose only job is measuring how fast the page loads. Somebody poisoned it.
Once it was running in your browser, it grabbed your logged-in trading session and started dumping every open position you had, first at 3% under market, then at half price, then at the lowest price possible. Then it swapped the whole balance into POL and shipped it to the attacker. Stablecoins can be frozen. POL can't.
It even reported back after every hit. Your wallet, your country, your portfolio size, whether the transfer went through. All of it sent home through DebugBear's own data endpoints.
The attacker's wallet went from empty to $2M in about 45 minutes. Conor Grogan's final count was $2.65M.
One trader said he lost $800K and watched every position get sold. His friend got hit for $600K.
Polymarket flipped the exchange to cancel-only, paused the relayer and says everyone will be made whole. Credit where it's due.
But this is the third time this year. About $700K in May. About $3M in June, through a hacked third-party script, same as now.
I've been phished. I've been drained. Stay in crypto long enough and it happens to you. But the people on Thursday did nothing wrong. They opened the right website.
Not one of these three hacks touched a smart contract. We spent ten years making the blockchain unbreakable and then let a page speed tracker sit right next to people's money.

Black October update:
1) Binance just got hit by the biggest hack in crypto history. Billions stolen.
2) In one hour, 995 Polymarket accounts were drained of millions. Polymarket halted trading.
3) Australia, Japan, Norway, UK, the Netherlands, and France are urging citizens to stockpile canned food and bottled water to prepare for emergencies.
Looks like Binance just got hit by the biggest hack in crypto history.
~$1.8B frozen in USDC / USDT so far, so roughly $1.7B in unremediated losses.
Thankfully, Binance is by far the most profitable exchange in crypto. They're good for it. This is considerably less than what they make in profit in a year. So no need to panic if you're a Binance customer.
All of crypto is getting pentested right now. If you are under-investing in AI security / pentesting, now is the time to fix that.

There it is.
Over 60% of the S&P 500's components are now in bear market territory, down -20% or more from their record highs.
Four of the Magnificent 7 stocks are now in bear market territory, with these seven names erasing a combined -$4 trillion in market cap since their highs.
We are in a "stealth" bear market.
And, we believe it's a huge opportunity as we outlined below on October 15th.
BREAKING: Pentagon investigates suspected cyberattack after freezers at 6 US military bases mysteriously malfunctioned, spoiling large quantities of food, per Reuters.
In at least one of the cases, the freezers did not simply stop working. Instead, the cooling units’ temperatures were cranked up overnight, yielding massive amounts of wilted or melted food in the morning.
It comes as the Pentagon prepares every major US military base to operate for at least 90 days without outside electricity, fuel, water or supplies, anticipating a major war.
It’s finally starting…
I thought we had more time.
The Great Reset is here.
99% of people have no idea what’s about to hit them.

Even little Haiku found about twice as many major errors as human reviewers.
Lots of debate this week on whether journals should ban AI in peer review.
We actually tested this in our new preprint, and the results were pretty clear to me.
For context, I've reviewed for most of the big journals and evaluated 1,000 human reviews as an editor. I love to read and evaluate science.
TLDR: From now on I won't do any peer review without AI. For clinical trials, I'd even call human-only review dangerous 🧵
