Gagging government agencies because they might say something the government won't like.
Absolutely wild stuff from the Albanese government, who once claimed to be paragons of transparency.

Always notice who in the 'conservative thinker' space go MIA when the youth, esp young guys who have zero advocacy groups for them, are in the ideological gunsights - who do you think fights your wars? Does your dangerous jobs? Is usually the one who instinctively runs to danger?
Aaannnnndddd....
Brisbane has finally gone red on the 1 year price change.
Adelaide and Perth to follow early in the New Year.
With inflation a long way from even being tolerable, this over priced mess is going to be unwinding for a long time to come.
The Victorian Labor government's "SEC" that isn't the SEC that Andrews pretended it would be - just a $159M loss making exercise that's making government departments buy expensive electricity. We taxpayers are just propping up highly paid public servants. #SpringSt

If you're happy with the government doing nothing when the lowest income earners in our country are copping 5.2% inflation on essentials, that's a view you can take.
But that's the impact of pretending (IMO) that the government is a passenger here.
History may not repeat, but it sure does rhyme.....
'With the Reserve Bank poised to lift rates to an 18-year high at Tuesdayโs meeting, the risk of a 1990-91 style recession is growing. Circumstances differ from past downturns, but with household debt-to-income near 180 per cent (versus 40-50 per cent in 1998), a cash rate rising from 3.6 per cent to 4.85 per cent in just nine months could hit as hard as the 1988-89 tightening cycle' #ausbiz #RBA

My word, the lack of understanding on how monetary policy works is astounding.
Some folks with tweets with huge views putting fantasy's out, how the RBA can magically reduce inflation without any pain for households.
And how this is all their fault and nothing to do with govt.

Hey @AlboMP
Are you going to blame this one on "right-wing extremists", and insist that One Nation supporters "turn down" the political rhetoric?

Victoria Secrets: Please Explain
Whatโs hiding in Victoria's secret cabinet papers?
Youโll have to wait 30 years to find out.
When One Nation announces plans to release cabinet documents, panic sets in at Labor HQ.
With decades of corruption potentially about to see the light of day, Ben Carroll, Jacinta Allan, and Dan Andrews embark on a desperate mission to shred the documents before itโs too late.
But first they'll have to survive Melbourne's potholes, public transport, and the violent streets of the world's most liveable city.
Meanwhile, Jess Wilson has a plan, apparently.

Say Aussie housing was to become affordable, migration was cut to the point the housing deficit was fully resolved and investor demand for existing homes was to remain depressed.
The policy opportunities to raise home ownership rates would be huge, the entire 1940s to 1960s playbook viable, because there wasnt excess demand pushing prices higher.
My word, what a difference it could make to our society and our economy long term.
The next time someone carries on about Gina Rinehart.....

What nutjob still thinks "The Greens" are concerned at all about the environment?
Replying to @GreensAU2
According to a December 2024 analysis by the Victorian Liberal Party (reported in The Australian), the Greens attempted 52 motions critical of Israel and supportive of Palestine in Victorian Parliament from October 2023 onwardโ41 in the Legislative Council and 11 in the Assembly. None received leave for formal debate. They have continued similar attempts in later sitting weeks through 2025 and 2026.
