The next time someone tells you homelessness is caused by addiction, mental illness, laziness, poor choices, or generous social services, show them this. Homelessness is a housing problem. Not ONLY a housing problem, but ALWAYS a housing problem. We can address addiction, mental illness, and poverty, but if people still can't afford a place to call home, we haven't solved homelessness. You cannot end homelessness without housing, it's that simple.

Some of the sharpest analyses of Israeli politics come from Daniel Levy. This should be subtitled in every language. Short, clear, impeccable.
Daniel Levy | Former Israeli Peace Negotiator | US/Middle East Project (@USMEP): Netanyahu did not alone commit genocide for 3 years. He did not alone maintain decades of illegal occupation. It was system-wide. Eisenkot was part of it & served in the military. He sat in the emergency unity security cabinet after Oct. 7 - during the genocide. Israeli generals, soldiers & judges - all part of a system-wide mobilization. Dissenting voices existed but remained marginal.

‼️A new UN report exposes how influential international media outlets distorted public understanding of Israel’s conduct, facilitated genocide, and obstructed accountability. Its key recommendation is simple: Media organisations must stop laundering propaganda through the journalistic form. Read the report here: docs.un.org/en/A/81/249

A Thread 👇🏿 Reports indicating that the UAE is nominating its Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh to succeed António Guterres as UN Secretary-General have triggered widespread backlash from analysts, journalists and human rights advocates. Criticism primarily centres on the UAE's role in arming the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a militia that the UN has accused of g*nocide in Sudan. "The UAE has been funding genocides in Sudan; this rogue regime can't lead the UN," argued Sudanese researcher Mohamed Suliman. With Nusseibeh serving as the UAE's ambassador to the UN from 2013 to 2024, former US diplomat Cameron Hudson wrote, "It isn't just that [the] UAE has been supporting the RSF; it's that Lana has been the UAE's chief diplomat denying the fact and defending the regime," adding that her candidacy represents "an insult to 50 million Sudanese." Similar sentiments were expressed by New York Times columnist Nick Kristoff, while other journalists questioned how the UN could maintain institutional credibility while considering a candidate tied to g*nocide. "Does she side with the UN experts who've reported on UAE links to the genocidal Rapid Support Forces, or does she continue to tow the UAE line and deny it (all evidence to the contrary)?" asked Mark Leon Goldberg, editor-in-chief of UN Dispatch. "Haven’t the people of Africa suffered enough?" researcher Thomas van Linge asked. Other commentators focused on the wider implications for global governance, regional stability and the legitimacy of the UN itself. "A rather concerning development, considering her state has been consistently found meddling in foreign states' affairs by funding and backing militias," noted analyst Razan Gorti. "God save us if the Emirates succeed in making their person a UN top official," remarked analyst Pawel Wojcik. Journalist Mark Camilleri called for the UN to be defunded if Nusseibeh becomes UN chief, while anti-imperialist author Justin Podur suggested that under her helm, the position would stand for "United Nations Secretary for Genocide".

United Arab Emirates diplomat Lana Nusseibeh's support for Gaza after Israel's genocide doesn't absolve her for denying the UAE role in sending arms and mercenaries to the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary in Sudan as they committed another genocide. No one who thinks some genocides are ok should be UN secretary general. theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

I think it's time for me to move out of Ottawa. I can't believe Sutcliffe is going to be in charge of destroying this city.

Abolish the Indian Act. We have nothing to lose but our chains. We will, of course, need new legislation that is an interface between the Federal government and First Nations. And this MUST be created alongside Chiefs and First Nation governments every step of the way. But it is time to move past the era of this outdated, racist, and patriarchal legislation. I support Prime Minister Carney’s work to position Canada as a global leader in human rights and democracy. The Indian Act is inconsistent with achieving that vision. Our laws at home should reflect the values we champion around the world. It’s time for a relationship with First Nations people that reflects who we are as Canadians today, recognizes nationhood, and lives up to the true nature of reconciliation.

Got an unpopular question. Why is so much attention paid to women's tits and ass, but no one posts (with pictures) about surgical/otherwise non-medical augmenting of men's (inadequate) equipment? Seems like a fixation?

It's worth noting that the massacres and mass rape in El Fasher, Sudan, claiming tens of thousands of lives, happened with the complicity of the UAE and @Lana_Nusseibeh, now seeking to be the next UN Secretary-General. Empowering mass murder and rape should be disqualifying.
Sudan: One Year on from the Cataclysm of El Fasher. “It is as if a tsunami had hit the city,” said a resident who returned to Sudan’s El Fasher only to find it destroyed and largely abandoned after the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) October 2025 takeover. hrw.org/news/2026/10/26/suda…

I can't stop thinking of how Apartheid Israel has killed Palestinian media workers (~300) and their relatives (700+), making Gaza the deadliest place for journalists EVER. Time to make sure the genocidaires and their cheerleaders are held to account.
