Replying to @KevinDBishop @LindseyGrahamSC
Some are suggesting this is some "polling head-fake."
I wish. Our private polling looked the same as public polling in 2020.

I was there in SC Senate 2020 - the @LindseyGrahamSC vs Jaime Harrison race.
Our OWN internal polling showed it being very, very close.
Our daily tracking was always 0-3 points and would vary back and forth. NEVER outside the margin of error.

Told ya. Defections are real. Now everyone sees and is admitting it.
It's real. It's real bad in many of these contests, and worse in the banked early vote than what is expected in the Election Day vote.
It requires a MASSIVE turnout to overcome without loyal/2024 low props.
It's a story of conservative defection in the early vote.
The full picture among those who have already voted, per final @cygnal midterm NVT survey:
Republicans: 93% R, 6% D
Democrats: 99% D, 0% R
Independents: 67% D, 30% R
Almost all of the Republican crossover comes from people who call themselves "mostly Republican" rather than "strongly Republican."

That South Carolina NYT poll, plus a Graham +3 from Citadel that also entered overnight, didn't actually move our South Carolina polling average at all! The race has been polling this way for a while.

This makes me so sad. One of the memories I cherish was getting to meet Huerta, who was one of my Mom’s heroes, last summer & talk with her about how important our 1st Am rights are. nytimes.com/2026/10/28/us/do…

I had the pleasure of meeting her many, many years ago as a young man and she was a force to be reckoned with. I think about how in her final year, she made one final act of bravery and push for accountability. Farewell, rest in peace.

Republicans are now spending in Louisiana. Republican spending decisions over the last week have led me to believe that their internal polls nationally have late breakers in a lot of states moving towards Democrats
LOUISIANA SENATE RACE
Just saw (for the first time) an anti Jamie Davis ad by the Accountability Project - 6 days before Election Day.
Don't sleep on the Gret Stet - as JMC said in a recent interview, this is NOT a "slam dunk" race for Rep. Letlow.

Not the best timing for this story, given that the new NYT/Siena poll of Minnesota has Flanagan up on Tafoya 54-40.
Former “Sunday Night Football” sideline reporter Michele Tafoya has emerged as an unexpectedly formidable Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, forcing Democrats to fight for a seat they once expected to hold comfortably. wapo.st/4jGmVjq

Talked to a Democratic strategist today who told me they had run 18 different ads for a *single House race* this cycle.
that's more (a lot more?) than Senate races would have had in the not-too-distant past

Been the case for a while but it's notable that the attacks on Acton re: COVID did not end up being Fauci-coded — a tyrant in a lab coat who closed your business and made your kid stupid — but that she quit. As clear a sign as any that people have moved on from shutdown politics

On the day a sitting president landed in Lubbock, Texas, for the first time in 34 years, people waited for hours in lines stretching for blocks in this reliably red city. But the crowd wasn't waiting for President Trump. They were waiting for Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico. nbcnews.com/politics/2026-el…

The 2020 cycle was literally the hardest cycle in our lifetime to poll. Then polls went on to overcorrect somewhat and overstated Republicans.
Even the rightwing pollsters who got 2020 correct see South Carolina as toss up.
It's not the same thing here, folks.
