Not even remotely close. In fact, one of the worst games I've played this year. Story sucks. Finding loot is pointless after you get the powers you want. Side missions are some of the worst I've ever experienced in gaming. Yall just saw a pretty world and the ability to do a whole lot of nothing for 1000+ hours and said "this is what I've always wanted in gaming."
Crimson Desert is the clear GOTY so far if you actually played trough it. The distance between it and contestants for 2nd place is absolutely massive, like when Elden Ring won. They made 1 mistake tho; At the start they have you slowly figure out "whats wrong" in the first town, by making you do very random tasks (all subtly caused by the same problem) after which the story can start. Simultaniously, some of these tasks serve as controls-tutorial. A lot of Dishonest Journalists, who were tasked with shittalking the game, framed this as "The entire game is just random MMO quests". Its an incredible game, with a fun story. It was already easily the GOTY with countless awesome battles and the DLC Thats coming out in a few days looks even sicker. It was hit by the perfect storm of Lies from western journalists, and (probably) reverse guerilla marketeers of western "GOTY" games, while having been reviewbombed on launch by koreans who expected another onehanded idle mmo like black desert, instead of a controller-only action game.

I'm not quite finished with it yet, but chapter 3 of Final Fantasy Resonance is an emotional roller coaster full of excitement, sadness, and unexpected twists. I freaking love this game.

I spent most of my school years on buss stops in darkness like this. They'll be ok.
This is how dark it is as I’m dropping my kids off for high school at 7:05am, school starts at 7:15am. Basically still dark in October. Next week, after daylight savings time switch, it will be light when they start school. Without daylight savings time, darkness would be even worse the next four months. And of course, many kids are standing at bus stops in this. Just something to think about for those of you who think we don’t need to switch time to keep morning daylight at least somewhat stable for work and school traffic schedules.

Hi. Horror fan here. I like all kinds of horror. Slasher. Body. Creature. Paranormal. etc. I like nudity in horror. I like over the top gore fests in horror. etc. etc. etc. You know what I don't like? People that want to come in and try and tell you that you are wrong because you like something in horror that makes them uncomfortable. It's horror. And as far as horror goes, I don't care about how comfortable or uncomfortable you are. If it makes you uncomfortable...go watch a Disney movie. Or comedy. Or....something else entirely. I don't care if you think a killer clown is misogynistic. I don't care if you think your fan film is better than what's being officially released. I don't care if you are mad because people are dressing up for Halloween as terrible villains, or victims. If horror, and the things that happen in horror bother you, get out of the fandom. Go do cuddly things. I will not gatekeep people with opinions different than mine. We all won't like the same thing. But I will gatekeep people trying to change the hobby and throwing temper tantrums on social media.

So bummed about who was eliminated on Dragula's season opener as the other person was an absolute cunt. Loved the method of death though. 🤣 Over and above all, I do think this had the best overall first episode looks as a whole. It was hard for me to pick out a definite fav look.

The humor in gamers wanting a harder challenge option available while not wanting harder games (souls likes) to have easier challenge options is not lost on me. And no, I dont mean Flakeey specifically. It's just the first time I've seen the complaint go this way.

Didn't we already do the Death Riders vs. Shane Taylor Promotions thing a couple months ago. There was no one else to wrestle STP on Collision?

Counting down my favorite games of all time: #71: New Pokemon Snap (Switch) 22 Years. That is how long of a wait us Pokemon Snap fans had to wait until we got a new one. And while it's debatable if it was worth the wait, the game was absolutely worth playing and a heck of a fun time. In this game, you do a lot of what you did in the original. You sit, on rails, and attempt to get pictures of Pokemon. SO...MANY new Pokemon have come out since the original Snap game released, that I honestly didn't know who most of them were. But I was thrilled that my favorite Pokemon was in it (Lugia), even if I had to look up how to get to his secret area to get pictures of him. If you think an on rails shooter (with a camera that is) about Pokemon sounds fun, even if you haven't played the first Snap...and ESPECIALLY if you played the first Snap, check this game out.
Counting down my favorite games of all time: #72: Split Fiction (PS5) So I played this with my bestie @JParker317 and you know...this game was really amazing. You play as 2 ladies who are writers that sign up for a simulation experiment. One of you are into Science Fiction while the other is into Fantasy and you go on an adventure where you travel through both genres, overcoming obstacles together and trying to stop bad peoples. This is one of the few games I can honestly say doesn't have any boring parts to it. Every part of the game feels different and if it wasn't for a story that doesn't connect with me personally on a high level (please know...it's still very well done), it would be up much higher on my list. If there is one "drawback" to this game, it's that it requires co-op to play. So you're going to need a friend. But if I'm being honest, I don't personally consider that a drawback as it was one of the things I personally loved about the game. Also, only one of you has to buy it! Check it out if you get a chance.

Counting down my favorite games of all time: #73: WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain (PS2) While I do have one more wrestling game above this, this is the highest a Smackdown series game gets, and to be honest, it's for a couple reasons. First off, the roster was just insane for this year's game. This was still shortly after the Attitude Era was over but a lot of the Attitude Era wrestlers were still wrestling, but it was also after some great newer stars had started wrestling as well. The story mode was done really well as well, and it was just a lot of fun to play as this era of wrestlers.

Counting down my favorite games of all time: #74: Heavy Rain (PS4) One of the games I didn't get to play when it released because I didn't have a PS3, I fell in love with this game. You start off as Ethan and one of your kids go missing. And this begins a WILD ride of crazy things to happen, involving several characters as their stories interweave. Again, it's a story driven, QTE style game where decisions also matter, so I can't get too far into it without very heavy spoilers. But just know, it's crazy, and it's great.

Counting down my favorite games of all time: #75: Assassin's Creed Origins (PS4) This is the first RPG in the series, and at the time of it's release, it felt amazing. I know a lot of us fans were hoping it would be a one off since they were telling us the story of how the Assassin's Organization was starting, but sadly this became the framework of what the series would become. Yes, I will have Valhalla ahead of this game, which is going to seem wild to so many of you, but there is something about that game that just gripped me and I just cannot explain it. I will tell you, that objectively I do think this is a better game. But this list isn't an objective list. It's me ranking them based on how much I love the games listed. I...love...Bayek, and you aren't going to get too many protagonists that have as tragic story starting off as him, and that's what makes his story so great. And yes, if this makes it's way out of my circle, I know there are going to be people that have a list of people with more tragic stories, but I want you to know that I'm not saying there aren't any. There just aren't a lot. I think a part of why I like Valhalla more is it's setting. While I LOVE Egyptian culture...the world is mostly just sand and orange and it feels bland to me. It's a color palette I'm just not the biggest fan of. One of my complaints though, is this game started the inclusion of myths and gods into the story telling and I hate it on every level. I do love this game though, and that is why it is on my list.

So If I have one complaint so far in FF Resonance, and it's very minor...I reached the ship town in chapter one before going to the mining village because I saw an additional town I could go to that wasn't a part of the main quest. I go in, talk to everyone, but the best gear there, and then go to the mining town, do the things and eventually I get sent back to the ship town... upon arrival to the ship town the second time, I get a cut scene and it's Fina's 'first' time every being in a town with docks. cool. except we were here earlier. This should be a scene that happens the first time you go into the town, regardless of when you go to it. And then...they gave me a side quest that sent me back to the mining town anyways. Just a dumb oversight in my opinion.

Y'all...this is LA Noire.
Apparently wanting a version of GTA where you can become a cop and STOP crime is “crazy”.

Fam. Final Fantasy Resonance is a love letter to the series that I wasn't expecting. From the pixel art, to the beautiful animations, one of the most amazing soundtracks, and the acquisitions of Visions...I know a lot of people are complaining about spoilery questions but I'm going to be honest...most people won't remember these questions if they decide to go play these older games. I'm still not far in because adulting has taken over most of the last couple days, but after picking up the Warrior of Light, I just smiled. It's amazing fam.

Final Fantasy Resonance might be my favorite Final Fantasy game in a very VERY long time.

The sooner we as gamers realize that the reason the gaming industry sucks so much...is actually our fault, the sooner it can recover. But most of y'all aren't ready to understand that yet.

Counting down my favorite games of all time: #76: inFAMOUS Second Son (PS4) I...still...haven't played any of the other inFAMOUS games but when this game came out, I had heard how good they were and decided to jump on this. And MAN did I have so much fun playing this game. This is about as close as you are ever going to get to being a Super Hero without playing as one from a comic book. You play as Delsin, who as you make your way through the game, gain access to several different powers that you are able to use to achieve your goals. The game is set in an open world, but compared to games by today's standards, it isn't near as big as many you play now. You also get the ability to be either good or bad in your choices, which was really cool to toy around with. If you have a chance, I would still highly advise giving this game a chance. It is a lot of fun.
