I remember sitting around a campfire shortly after the Ukraine war had just started with some Ukrainian friends.
They shared that after they learned that Russian forces were jamming all communications they called Elon begging for Starlink support.
Elon and the Starlink team instantly dropped everything they were working on, loaded a private jet with as many Starlink terminals as they could (terminals were in short supply at the time), and started flying the jet eastward while writing code to make terminals work over Ukraine.
There was no contract or promise of payment for doing so, and no time to solve for that.
My Ukrainian friends believed this saved the nation of Ukraine, and that without this effort Ukraine would have lost the war nearly instantly.

A politician in the UK filed a police report saying he was being maliciously harassed on the internet. The posts that hurt his feelings were jokes written by a 15-year-old boy.
Instead of laughing in the politician's face, the police took him seriously and arrested the boy.
Somehow — I don't know how — this is a true story.

The US had all but nearly ended our independent space program to the ISS during the 2010s. For an entire decade, no crewed spacecraft launched from American soil. Every US astronaut who reached the ISS rode a Russian spacecraft. The price that the US paid for these seats on the Russian craft were $100M per seat.
But now, as I was watching @SpaceX bring home another crew from the ISS this morning, I felt deep emotion and pride for how this one company has completely turned that around for America. SpaceX has flown every NASA crew rotation for this decade. Crew-12 came home this morning. Their replacements, Crew-13, already docked just 7 days ago. That handoff is now ordinary.
THIS is how amazing SpaceX and their people truly are, they've turned around what was once a national embarrassment, into one of our greatest strengths. And this Marine is truly thankful for what you do everyday for our great country.

The European Commission has rolled out an alternative to Microsoft Teams.
But officials using it aren't impressed, with one describing the tool as “absolute shit.”
