Just saw Escape from L.A.
Razorfist was right about this one. It is one of the most underrated, most underappreciated and one of the most misunderstood films of the 90s. Yeah, the CGI animations in this didn’t really blend in all that well but overall it is an underrated gem.

The verdict: “Zero. Zilch.”
“She had no positive evidence Israel was involved in anything. She had no positive evidence France was involved. No positive evidence TPUSA or Erika Kirk was involved in anything.”
“She had nothing for Robinson being a patsy, nothing for any of her conspiracies. Nada. Zero. Zilch.”
“She backed away on a bunch of her claims... the Twiggs thing, the Erika thing, TPUSA.”

When I was 20 and told my grandmother I was going to be an actor, she was horrified.
"Baby...WHAT?
What if it don't work out??!
Whatchu gonna do then????"
A year later, she'd flown all the way from California to visit us in Virginia.
I'd nailed my first ever professional audition, getting cast as the romantic lead in a ridiculously daffy musical called "Where's Charley?"
Oma comes to a matinee.
Afterward I meet the family in the parking lot.
She's over the moon:
"OHHHHH BABY!
YOU GO ON!
GO ON AND BE AN ACTOR!"
Of course, she made sure to warn me:
"But don't you be no CLOWN.
You better be like DENZEL,
Not that fool, WILL SMITH."
To this day, hers remains the most important endorsement I ever got.
She died a few years before she could see her grandson sharing stages with some of Broadway's best and brightest.
But of all the ways my Oma spoiled me, the greatest gift she gave me was her blessing.
I miss her every day.
