From a historical point of view it’s cool to see that modern spacecraft still use the red (port) and green (starboard) lights established by the UK Steam Navigation Act in 1846.

My most contrarian belief: We could increase the global economy by 2-3% by installing large whiteboards in every home.

Don't forget you can use a gmail and add + to specify where you entered it. for example [email protected] where xyz is your gmail address. So then you can also tell where it leaked from and create filters to deal with it.

Spectator's data team have been playing with Deep Seek. As other's have noted if you ask it to replace letters with numbers you can avoid censorship. It even seems aware of being censored itself...

We were walking down at Hayling Island Ferry beach yesterday and I noticed one of the concrete blocks (I assume from Mulberry Harbour construction) had the inscription 'Not to be taken away. Reserved for Adolf' notched into it. #ww2 #History @rgpoulussen @thehistoryguy

Kyrgyzstan is just a word that gets written on the invoice. No Western goods in the transshipment racket to Russia actually go there. Kyrgyz import data (blue) are way lower than what Western countries report (black) as exports to Kyrgyzstan. This stuff goes straight to Moscow...

Steady on Andrew - we are still trying to work out if we are working people or not…I’ve created a handy decision tree that might help.

Yesterday, the Govt published new housing targets. The ambition – to expand housebuilding – is hugely welcome. But if you go council by council, there are BIG problems, which have the potential to a) cause huge resistance b) deliver housing where it’s least needed. Strap in (1/?)

They don't. They get left behind in an ever-increasingly digital world. And it's not just older people; it's individuals who can't afford devices, home internet, data, etc. It sucks. The Digital Divide is no joke and it has enormous repercussions for our society.
