This might be a fatal wound for Duarte. Still not callable, but it’s certainly (and solidly) tilt Gray (D) over Duarte (R) now. #CA13

New: Adam Gray (D) overtakes #CA13 Rep. John Duarte (R) by 105 votes w/ new Merced Co. ballot drop. Still way too close to call w/ a few thousand left, but a huge development for Dems.

Exactly 3 weeks after election day, Adam Gray has taken the lead in #CA13 for the first time since election night, and may just hold on to it with extremely little ballots remaining to count.

House Republicans will likely fall short of the 222 seats they got in 2022 but their winning margin was more "comfortable" this time around: Tipping point seat PA-07 (R +1.05) vs the 0.69% margin in IA-03, 2022's tipping point.

I just want to say — if you’re one of the few, the proud, the deranged that’s still following every vote dump in #CA13, #CA45, the North Carolina Supreme Court race, and the ranked choice voting repeal ballot initiative in Alaska — just know that I see you, and you’re a real one.

New ballots in Merced break massively for Adam Gray as he pulls 227 votes within incumbent John Duarte in CA13. Have to look into the data to see what types of ballots were dropped and how many are reamining.

SHEESH - with a VERY blue drop in Merced County, CA-13 is now essentially tied. Duarte leads by 227 votes, with 5k-6k ballots remaining. At this point, the law of small numbers kicks in. I’ve got zero clue what could be in those final ballots - most of which are provisional.
🚨🚨 #CA13 UPDATE - incumbent Republican John Duarte's lead down to just 227 votes after Merced County's update adds 11,177 votes that break 56%/44% for Democrat Adam Gray, netting him 1,337 votes.

So it looks like Merced has processed all of their vote by mail ballots and only provisional ballots (which have tended to break R in California) remain in the state. This will be a nailbiter to the end, given Stanislaus has another ~1k ballots as well. countyofmerced.com/DocumentC…

It is now mathematically impossible for Bob Casey to win
NYT has McCormick up 17,352, but according to @MichaelPruser’s tracker, McCormick’s lead is now larger than the remaining ballots that still need to be tabulated.

Two California house races remain uncalled, and it will be a minute before we know who wins. 🔴CA-13: Lean John Duarte ⚫CA-45: Toss Up There has been no change from last week's assessment, but both races have shifted ever so slightly toward Republicans. John Duarte (CA-13) remains the favorite, with Merced and Stanislaus dropping votes this evening. If the results are favorable, a race call could come (if they are unfavorable, we press on). The real action is over in CA-45, where all the bitching and moaning from accounts on here about how the votes are always favorable to Democrats down the stretch could see Republicans flip this one. Steel for the steal is well within reach. Derek Tran currently leads by 102 votes; however, the composition of the remaining vote is more favorable to Michelle Steel than it is to Tran, IMHO. CVRs (Conditional voter registrations) are California's version of same-day registrations. Because they must be done in person before or on election day, they're more Republican than mail or drop box ballots. We've seen CVR only drops in counties like Riverside, Madera, and even Los Angeles, showing a significant shift toward the Republican candidate compared to previous vote drops. 56.4% of all possible remaining ballots (pre-cures) in Orange County are CVRs + a small batch of provisionals. The remaining 43.6% of potential votes to be counted is a mix of early mail, late mail, early drop box, election day drop box, and damaged ballots requiring duplication. We know the CVRs are Republican +21 in terms of registration (just within the CA-45 portion of Orange County), so Steel is highly likely to see a net gain overall from counting these ballots. We don't know precisely how many there are, how many will be counted, or how favorable/unfavorable the rest of the vote will be to her; thus, this remains a coin flip. An estimated ~10,000 overall ballots are left to count. It may come down to how many cures come in before the December 1st deadline. Orange, 8 pm ET tonight, another small batch of votes will hit the wire.

Another election, another long wait for John Duarte, Adam Gray and CA Congressional District 13. Interviewed both today. Duarte is encouraged Trump flipped two of his counties, and Gray confirmed he still has his recount fund *if* necessary. kcra.com/article/duarte-gray…
