Twenty-five years ago, David Beckham scored a stunning free kick against Greece to send England to the 2002 World Cup.
That moment is held up as Beckham's moment of redemption following his infamous red card against Argentina in 1998.
@SebSB explores how there is so much more to the story.

It’s 31 years since Tony Yeboah unleashed this truly biblical Thunderbastard at Selhurst Park.
Sweet Lord Above. What a strike.

Didn't bother posting one for Villa as I assumed it'd be the same XI.
Here is my prediction for Arsena's starting XI vs Chelsea at home (caveat - they will train again, and this is before Arteta's press conference)

I’ve put together some more fun facts and trends ahead of the GW3 fixtures:
• Chelsea have failed to beat in Arsenal 5 years (all comps).
• The Chelsea striker also hasn’t managed a goal or assist in the last 10 meetings between the sides (all comps).
• Morgan Gibbs-White has an incredible record of getting attacking returns in successive starts.
Over the past two seasons, the amount of times MGW had one at least one follow up return:
2024/25: 86%
2025/26: 71%
(To explain a bit more, say MGW blanks in 3 games straight but finally gets a return in the fourth game, the likeliness of a follow up return to that is high)
• The away side is unbeaten in 4 games between Everton and Man United.
• Harry Maguire has hit DEFCON in 4 of his last 5 games against Everton
• Dewsbury-Hall hit DEFCON in both fixtures last season.
• Newcastle have never kept a CS at home to Bournemouth in the premier league
• 3 penalties were awarded across the Brentford vs Sunderland clashes last season. Only one was scored (Le Fee)
Both Le Fee and Schade missed penalties.
• Igor Thiago scored in both fixtures vs Sunderland last season, including a brace at home.
• The away side is unbeaten in 11 matches between Fulham and Crystal Palace.
This week was *much* harder to find anything substantial as we have a host of less frequently played matchups!
But I was keen to find a few and I hope this is interesting regardless, the feedback on the first one was brilliant! I’ll try to post these weekly when I can!

🇧🇷😍 23 years ago today, Ronaldinho scored his first ever Barcelona goal and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE. 🚀👏
🚨Very important PSA🚨
If you are sure you are either playing a free hit or Wildcard in GW3 then just make transfers without pressing any buttons for chips tonight after the deadline.
Any hits (-12/-24 whatever) you incur during the week will get wiped out once you press a FH or WC eventually.
Why do this?
- Keep optionally open in case you pivot from Wildcard to Freehit
- Non WC transfers affect price changes so more chance to get price rises for players you are bringing in.
However, do not forget to activate the chip Wed / Thu next week. I will do another 🚨 PSA 🚨next Thursday to remind you.
🚨Cole Palmer on Xabi Alonso:
“He just said I'd have more freedom to drift about the pitch. Just like you saw with the goal I scored. Last season, I wouldn't have even made that run because it's not a 'safe zone'. But he's saying move across that zone, drop into play, come get on the ball, create and just do what you do.” [sky]

It’s 37 years to the day since this reckless Paul Gascoigne tackle on Paul Lake at Maine Road.
Understandably, the Manchester City man is fuming with the challenge. But Gazza just responds with a classic playground insult…

Price changes are now integrated into the fplreview planner toolset!
- Visualise price change progress over the GW with sparklines
- Ability to toggle between price changes alongside transfer paths on main planning page
- Progress % is settable as a viewable slot in pitch view
- Can also be used for the helper column in the player projections table
This is the initial implementation and there will be elements added/refined over time, but hopefully a useful start!
