everyone loves to mock the Christians

seeing non-Christians take scripture out of context to push a narrative is annoying but seeing fellow Christians do the same thing is honestly just disappointing i think we all need to be careful not to interpret scripture based on what we want it to say rather than what it actually says

people speaking poorly and even sexually about this literal minor are so disgusting. this poor girl. this is why parents have to be aware of what their kids are up to online. pray for her. Lord only knows what she has been through… and praise God she was found alive!

this might be an unpopular opinion but since we are all sharing our thoughts on the election, this was something i was thinking about recently. i do miss class in politics. im not so naive as to believe that everything was always classy and there were never any cross words or feelings of contempt, but things have very obviously changed over the last so many years. i meant it when i said “Make America Classy Again” when seeing ads for candidates, i want to see an ad about you and what you stand for and believe in. ill be honest, i saw far too many ads from republicans just badmouthing their opponents and not enough introducing themselves and what they want for our country. i knew far too much from advertisements about the democrats than i did about the republicans. not only is that (in my opinion) embarrassing, but when the republican ad is just talking about how much the other guy sucks, and the democrat ad is a nice looking guy smiling talking about affordable housing, healthcare, and families, don’t be surprised when people are more eager to choose the other guy.

i'm tired of seeing these struggles dismissed as just a bunch of lazy young people who don't want to work. sure, that might describe some people, but pretending that's the explanation for everyone is completely out of touch. i'm incredibly grateful to be in the position i'm in now, but i also haven't forgotten about my childhood where i grew up in a low-income household. there were times when we used government assistance and lived in income-restricted housing. i know what it's like to grow up in a family where i worried about money even as a kid. you can believe in personal responsibility and the importance of hard work while still acknowledging that there are people genuinely struggling to make ends meet. these aren't imaginary problems and the people experiencing them deserve some compassion and real solutions.
