🔴 Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed Thursday that it captured one U.S. drone and shot down another over the Strait of Hormuz.
➤ The IRGC said it captured an intact U.S. MQM-170 reconnaissance and decoy drone west of the Strait of Hormuz. Its electronic warfare unit allegedly took control of the aircraft’s guidance systems and brought it down. (VIDEO)
➤ The IRGC said, without providing evidence, that the U.S. deployed the drone to identify Iranian air defense positions along the Persian Gulf coast and that it had taken off from an unnamed Gulf country.
➤ Separately, the IRGC said it intercepted and destroyed a U.S. MQ-1 drone over the eastern Strait of Hormuz, the 14th MQ-1 drone it says it has shot down.
➤ The U.S. military has not commented on the IRGC’s claims.

I can hardly imagine anyone who hasn’t seen this photograph. But it was taken on this day in 2000.
I cannot believe the photo is 26 years old now.
The boy in the photograph was Fares Odeh. He was just 14 years old.
Ten days after this image was captured, Fares went out again to throw stones at Israeli tanks, seeking to avenge the killing of his 17-year-old cousin.
An Israeli sniper shot him in the neck, killing him.
And there is another chilling detail to this photograph.
The photo changed Israeli tank doctrine. In August 2001, The Jerusalem Post quoted an anonymous tank doctrinist saying tank personnel were now instructed to fire upon rock-throwers.

🔴 Three oil tankers caught fire after striking naval mines south of the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday and Thursday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy claimed on Thursday.
➤ The IRGC said the vessels had switched off their radar and navigation systems, ignored warnings, and attempted to pass through an “unauthorized” southern route.
➤ Separately, UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported Thursday that a vessel caught fire nine nautical miles north of Khasab, Oman. UKMTO later said the vessel, identified as a dhow, had sunk and its crew had been safely evacuated.
➤ In another incident Thursday, UKMTO reported that a tanker was struck by an unknown projectile while exiting the Strait of Hormuz. No crew injuries or environmental impact were reported. Authorities are investigating. This may mark the 4th ship struck on the past day.
➤ IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebi reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz remains “under the strategic control of the Iranian armed forces and will never be opened until the Islamic Republic’s conditions are fully met,” in comments quoted by the Fars news agency on Thursday.

Saudi Arabia is increasingly targeting civilian neighbourhoods as the war progresses.

Andrey was severely beaten and lost consciousness several times in front of police. Despite this, he was denied hospital treatment. He was put in an ambulance—but instead of being taken to hospital, he was taken to a police station.
He is still there, arrested and being denied medical care.
Jasper and I were also beaten. Jasper was then pepper-sprayed and arrested.

BREAKING: Hegseth fires the Pentagon's chief planner, Army Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, per The Atlantic.
Defense officials said the main reason for the firing was that he clashed repeatedly with Elbridge Colby, the Pentagon's top civilian for policy, causing Hegseth to lose confidence in Sylvia.
Colby is the official who said in August the US is reviewing the strategy for the specific and potential use of nuclear weapons.
He is at least the 5th general pushed out this year, each holding a key position.

🔴 BREAKING | At Least 14 Killed in Saudi Airstrikes on Crowded Market in Yemen
Saudi airstrikes targeted Al-Hazm market in Yemen’s northern Al-Jawf governorate on Wednesday, killing at least 14 people and wounding 15 others, including women and children, according to Ansarallah’s Al Masirah news.
The Sana’a-based Health Ministry said the strikes hit the market while it was crowded with shoppers, as well as nearby residential buildings and a fuel station, causing extensive damage.
