Under scarcity it’s expensive to be poor and cheap to be rich.
But under abundance it’s cheap to be poor and expensive to be rich.
Complete inversion from what you know.
How the X Algo works
1.) shoot off a random short observation in between sets, but fail to provide 100% nuance appropriate definitions for all people that work in all situations. Watch it go viral. 500k views.
2.) well articulated nuanced argument that if acted upon would double net worth. 200 views.

10 years ago I was making $135k/year traveling the country as a factory designer. I owned a townhouse and an old jeep.
Then I entered a covenant with God.
“Dear God, I will start a Christian engineering company”
Then, the greatest adventure of my life began. Contracts, guerilla warfare engineering, 4 kids, dream beach house, bizarre private equity exit, HELOC on beach house, family surf shack in Central America, launching 4 new companies, recruiting world class leaders, paying distributions, executives on pay freeze, got our first patent, got 30 more patents, every industry award out there, national TV, new friends on 𝕏, learned standup paddle boarding, learned tennis, family mission trips, partnered with the largest industrial suppliers on earth, technology development in 5 industry verticals, got invited to write official US tariffs, 4 non-profit boards, got a Cybertruck, won USDOT driverless city grant, built a corporate HQ, deployed an ERP, obtained a 3 year PCOAB audit, wrote the national hygiene policy on covid, started buying majority of my clothes at Costco, entered litigation, won litigation, got customers I’ve never met, got employees I’ve never met, opened offices across multiple states, still work from my attic (it’s a nice attic), got a Herman miller chair, traveled the world, had 6 years with zero resignations, funded orphanages, funded hungry children, funded missionaries, funded homeless rescue, gotten shacked in 12’ waves, mastered the Komodo grill. All of it, in Jesus’ name.
That’s the shortlist. Most of it is in my book.
Walking with Jesus is not easy. Not if you’re living out the great commission.
But I cannot imagine living life another way. I cannot imagine chasing another promotion to get to VP or C-suite of a company with another guy’s name on it. I cannot imagine coming home and telling my wife about the “mood” of my boss.
I cannot imagine what my faith would be like, had it not been tested.
God gave me abundance, and I acted biblically.
God took it all away, and I acted biblically.
And l’ve made mistakes. Big mistakes. And my team has stood by me. And with God’s help, we fixed it.
Through the success, failure, and conflict, I’ve done my very best to be transparent and optimistic. To be a leader. To be pragmatic. To work harder than anyone else out there. To take Bible sized risk.
Whatever your work is, bring Jesus into it. Live a life of integrity. Love your wife. Play with your kids.

If you’re a builder, build a biz and raise your capital from a bank.
Can attest to Molson’s point. I’ve raised ~$10M of capital my entire life (65,000 lb vehicles don’t fund themselves). I find it’s easier to build a $10M business, get to $10M EBITDA, get to $10M free cash flow.
Then, random people work your network to get on your calendar and beg to throw $20M at you. Magic.
Then, use your building skills to figure out if you want OPM (other people’s money) and what you’d do with it.
@jimbelosic is the poster boy for this.
But, before you take anyone’s money, tell them exactly what you’ll do with it and what you won’t do. Words like “pro-rata rights” and “information rights” go right out the window. Bring it up once and you’re blocked from my outlook and iPhone.
You want to invest in @ChangRobotics? You better be on board with slinging the Gospel while building the most advanced robotics systems on earth. You better be on board with employees and customers being regarded as more important than investors. You better be on board with promoting women through pregnancy. You better be on board with tithing 10% of free cash flow as the least we can do. You don’t have to be on board with prayer, but expect us to teach you. You better be on board with engineers leading a company and not a financially engineered company. You better be on board with data privacy. You better be onboard with going LOOOONG on CR and America 🇺🇸.
Are YOU worried about your portfolio? WE are here to work as unto the Lord and glorify Jesus through building factories other countries could only dream about. We do that, and the portfolio will take care of itself. We are under covenant with God, you will be under covenant with us. You still want in?
Okay, now you can have a 30 minute meeting.

The fastest way to determine if Asians have assimilated to American culture is to ask them about schooling.
If they don’t realize that America and the West dominated their cultures/countries because of a childhood focus on play rather than memorization then they have not assimilated.
The reason their kids are in a school in Arizona, as opposed to the American kids in an “American School in X” is a lack of appreciation and understanding of this fact.
To the extent that demographics change the school system, like in Palo Alto/Bay Area, for these people, it is for the worse.
That people are so angry at this post proves the point.
If it was wrong, there wouldn’t be strong emotional reactions to it. Everyone would pass by.
That there are, but they are misplaced (personal attacks on me, or a misunderstanding of the western education system) is an example of viewpoint bias.
In my GC there are two Chinese Americans. One understands this and is 10-100x more successful than the other
The one who doesn’t understand this point about why memorization is not the way can’t imagine how his fellow “chinaman” doesn’t think the same as him about test taking.
It’s a great scissor, like how Vivek blaming Amy for being abused is an example of how he hasn’t assimilated.
I am grateful we live in an era when it’s easy to see who understands and who doesn’t.

Just gonna leave this right here for absolutely no reason
This paper answers why confident idiots run the world.
Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy.
It’s called “Unskilled and Unaware of It.”
they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception.
And the results are wild.
participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile.
they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence.
the paper revealed a brutal paradox:
the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain.
if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing.
this creates a dangerous systemic loop.
the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions.
meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse.
top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else.
they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add.
we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence.
the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't.
the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

Really questionable propaganda campaign this weekend
Way over the skis trying to sell us on the entire world ending in the next few weeks due to technology
This is what I mean, this type of thing is crazy.

How come Elon Musk is the only one seriously talking about all these young people dying in the trenches for no reason and begging for this war to stop? Innocent young Ukrainians and Russian conscripts are getting blown apart by drones, losing their lives
And then you look at Europe. What do you only keep hearing from so many European leaders? More weapons, more ammunition, more military support. “We cannot let Russia win”
You almost never hear them seriously talking about how to bring peace and end this war for good
Why the hell aren't those same leaders putting that much energy into figuring out how to stop this meat grinder?
What are these leaders actually doing to stop young people from dying every single day? What are they doing to end this endless slaughter? Why aren't they putting the same urgency into finding a way to end this war instead of constantly talking about sending more weapons and how they should continue this war forever?
These are human beings. They have parents, families, loved ones, and entire lives ahead of them. And they're dying in trenches because of decisions made by people who will never have to experience what those young soldiers are going through
And that includes the poor Russian conscripts who have no choice but to fight. They're human beings too. Their lives matter too
How many more young people need to die before stopping this war becomes just as important as deciding who wins it?
Why does it take Elon Musk to keep reminding people about the human lives being destroyed by this war?
Seriously, where the hell is the urgency to stop all this killing? everyone who wants to continue this war is pure evil
Replying to @skscartoon
The endless slaughter of Ukrainian and Russians must stop.
We should some sympathy for the poor Russian conscripts too. Those kids have no choice but to fight and die in drone strikes.
Hegseth has presided over a policy that has re-oriented the military into a more capable fighting force. Literally reversing decades of “wrong direction.”
But more crucially he’s overseen a china-energy containment policy that appears to be working.
That would be a major problem for the democrats as Chinese money is a substantial inflow for them.

Men will steal a woman's best 5-10 years without remorse. It's up to fathers and mothers to prohibit their daughters from such "relationships." Zero reason to not be married after being together for 2 years, which honestly is still too long.

One of the greatest crimes of our lifetime.
Obamacare was a giveaway for some lower income people who could qualify for Medicaid, but a disaster for the middle class. The people who said it was a Trojan horse for a single payer system may have been right - it may have been designed to make the system so expensive that everyone would want Medicare for all.

he supported trump because biden snubbed him at the EV summit
that's it
The entire reason Elon went all in for trump in 2024 is because they were preparing to take SpaceX from him.
This is that, again.
They already showed how little regard there is for shareholders with what happened in Delaware, which was a trial balloon.
Like him or not, I think Elon is fantastic, we need to support him 100% going forward. We cannot be divided on this sort of bs.
Let’s check in on CA real estate.
This video is next level crazy, which is why I’m cross-posting from instagram.
The colonization of CA by china is completely out of control and this is the overarching subtext of the wealth tax discussion.
