10 Things the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) Can Do for Afghan Women
From promises to action: A practical agenda for women's rights, freedom, and leadership.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) can demonstrate its commitment to women's rights by adopting concrete policies, creating opportunities for women to participate in decision-making, and establishing measurable commitments to equality.
1\. Establish an AFF Women's Affairs Committee. Create a women-led committee with genuine decision-making authority to shape the Front's political, humanitarian, and governance policies.
2\. Guarantee women's political representation. Commit to meaningful representation of women in AFF leadership, future transitional institutions, constitutional discussions, and peace negotiations.
3\. Defend girls' education. Support safe, accessible educational opportunities, including online learning, scholarships, teacher training, and the eventual reopening of schools and universities to girls.
4\. Protect women from violence and persecution. Establish confidential reporting channels, legal referral networks, and partnerships with human rights organizations to document abuses and support survivors.
5\. Support women's economic independence. Promote vocational training, entrepreneurship, remote employment, and financial assistance for women-led households and businesses.
6\. Guarantee equal constitutional rights. Commit to protecting women's equal citizenship, access to justice, freedom of movement, employment, education, and participation in public life in Afghanistan's future constitution.
7\. Include women in transitional governance. Ensure women have substantive roles in planning civilian administration, public services, reconstruction, and democratic institutions.
8\. Support women journalists and human rights defenders. Help establish secure platforms for women's voices, independent reporting, civic participation, and documentation of Taliban restrictions and abuses.
9\. Prioritize women's healthcare and humanitarian needs. Work with independent humanitarian organizations to improve access to maternal healthcare, mental health support, disability services, and assistance for displaced women and families.
10\. Create a Women's Rights Accountability Framework. Publish measurable commitments, appoint independent women advisers, and regularly report progress so that women's rights become enforceable institutional responsibilities rather than political slogans.
The most important principle
Women must not merely be beneficiaries of the AFF's political vision. They must be equal partners in designing, leading, and implementing it.
The AFF has already publicly recognized women's movements as essential to Afghanistan's liberation and advocated equal rights, democratic governance, and accountability for abuses.
These ten proposals are recommended actions, not claims that the AFF has already implemented

“My sisters and brothers…”
A message from the true sons of Afghanistan, the AFF Commandos
Celebrating the first snowfall in the Hindu Kush mountains, Afghanistan Freedom Front commandos take the opportunity to address their people and reaffirm their oath: to protect their fellow citizens, serve their country, and defend it against terrorist threats.
In this video, each speaks in his mother tongue—Farsi, Pashto, Uzbek, or Pashai. They speak different languages, but they share one country, one national identity, and one commitment to their people. They stand united under one front: the Afghanistan Freedom Front.
They renew their pledge to the women and men of Afghanistan, reminding them that their protectors remain active and committed to securing the future of freedom, dignity, and peace they deserve.
These sons of Afghanistan have come together once again to show the world that they will never abandon their people or surrender to those who hold their nation hostage through terror and oppression.
They call on our sisters and brothers to keep hope alive and continue dreaming of a brighter future for themselves and their children.
They are coming back. They are coming to rebuild the Afghan National Army, restore law and order, and serve their people once again.

“The government I served was brought down. But the oath I took still stands.”
An old soldier’s words from the mountains of Nuristan, spoken long after the Republic fell. The government is gone, the uniform has changed hands, and the weapons once carried to defend the people now rest on other shoulders. Yet the oath remains—bound not to a regime, but to the people and the country it was sworn to protect.
“The government I served was brought down. But the oath I took still stands.”
The Diary of an AFF Commander
Translated from Farsi into English
To the world:
I am a former soldier of the Republic of Afghanistan. The government I served was brought down. But the oath I took still stands.
Our internationally recognized republic was shattered by betrayal and backroom deals. Our people were left to bear the consequences: oppression, fear, stolen freedoms, and a future denied to their daughters.
I wore my uniform with pride. I swore to serve my country and protect its people. How can I remain silent when I see that same uniform worn today by men who once planted bombs, sent suicide attackers, and killed innocent civilians?
That uniform stood for our duty, our sacrifice, and the memory of our comrades who never came home. It stood for the selfless service of veterans who gave so much, yet now live with disabilities and beg in the streets to feed their families.
Today, those who seized that uniform use it to terrorize our communities, beat our citizens, and humiliate the women of our country.
How can I accept seeing the weapon I once carried to defend my people now slung over the shoulder of a terrorist who claims divine authority while condemning his fellow citizens impure and treating them as outcasts and apostates? How can I watch a weapon meant for their protection being turned against them?
I cannot stand idle while the people I swore to protect are brutalized. My responsibility did not end when the republic fell. Neither did my oath.
Across Afghanistan, our youth, soldiers, commanders, and former security professionals are rising. We are uniting under the Afghanistan Freedom Front, led by our big brother, General Yasin Zia. With discipline, courage, and determination, we carry our duty forward.
We have not forgotten our duty. We have not forgotten our fallen comrades. We have not forgotten the people we pledged to protect.
We will not accept oppression as our country’s destiny. We will not surrender Afghanistan’s future to religious extremism. Every woman denied her freedom, every child denied an education, and every family living in fear reminds us why we must persevere.
Our mission is clear: to end oppressive rule and restore a republic where the people choose their government, where the law protects every citizen, and where women and men stand equal in dignity and rights.
To the world: hear our people. Recognize their right to freedom. Stand with their demand to choose their own government and shape their own future.
To my fellow soldiers: remember your oath. Remember the people you pledged to protect. Let that duty guide both your courage and your conduct.
I now call upon every one of you, whether you are living in disguise inside Afghanistan or seeking refuge abroad: come back and join me. I am here, standing tall in the mountains of Nuristan. Return to duty. Take up your arms. Stand beside me.
Our oath still stands. Our struggle for freedom continues. Afghanistan will rise again!

Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), Commitment to Women's Rights
Principle 12 of the Afghanistan Freedom Front Manifesto reaffirms the Front's unwavering commitment to fully supporting the resistance, freedom-seeking movements, and struggles for justice led by the courageous women of Afghanistan.
The AFF recognizes women as essential participants in shaping Afghanistan's political, social, and democratic future. Their struggle for dignity, education, employment, freedom, and equal citizenship is an inseparable part of the broader struggle for justice and fundamental human rights.
In accordance with Principle 12, the Front is committed to supporting efforts to eliminate injustice, discrimination, and gender apartheid, while advancing equal rights, opportunities, and freedoms for women in every sphere of life.
The AFF's vision is of an Afghanistan where women are not silenced, excluded, or denied their fundamental rights, but are empowered to participate equally in education, employment, political leadership, public institutions, and decision-making at every level.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front maintains that lasting peace, justice, and a representative political system cannot be achieved without the full and meaningful participation of women. Their rights, dignity, and freedoms must remain central to Afghanistan's future.

Bit by bit, the Taliban is losing control of Afghanistan | Asia Times
“Resistance is becoming more geographically dispersed, more organizationally diverse and harder to dismiss as a residual and largely spent northern rebellion. The Taliban may have won Afghanistan’s last war while creating the conditions for its next one.”
