Will you help me stop proposed rules that could put India's community dogs, wild animals and countless others at risk of painful laboratory experiments? We have less than 10 days to act.
The thought of a trusting dog or a monkey suffering in a laboratory breaks my heart. India is already advancing modern, non-animal science. We must move forward, not backwards.
Please join me. Animals cannot speak up for themselves, but we can speak up for them. ❤️

#AnimalTesting #PETA #MyTake #AajKiBaat

Respected @RajatSharmaLive ji, thank you for speaking up. 🙏
Dogs, rabbits, mice, rats, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish & birds can suffer through experiments involving pain, distress, toxicity and sometimes death.
The draft’s exceptions for certain stray/feral and wild animals, provisions for severe experiments, and inclusion of mobile facilities raise serious welfare concerns.

India’s proposed overhaul of animal-testing rules could allow more experiments to be approved without central oversight and expand circumstances in which wild, stray and protected animals can be used in research.
The changes “can undermine credibility of scientific research and weaken the ethical safeguards” governing animal experiments, warns @humaneworldorg.
Humane World for Animals says the draft risks moving India in the opposite direction from countries investing in human biology-based research and reducing reliance on animal experiments.

Hey @isro ,
What happened to Julie, Snowy, and the two other community Indian dogs who lived on your #Dehradun campus for years?
Why were all four reportedly relocated to an undisclosed location last week, and who is accountable for their safety?
A brief history:
Julie was born and raised on campus. Snowy was a familiar face, known and loved by students and staff. Along with two more dogs, they had long been part of campus life, cared for by members of the community.
When Snowy suffered a severe injury, concerned individuals had to arrange medical treatment which required surgery with the support of a local NGO.
People even contributed money to ensure he received food, medication, and proper post-operative care at a shelter. This was an act of compassion and responsibility.
But where is the compassion and responsibility from your end?
It was known that all four dogs vaccinated and sterilized? Then, why were they relocated, where have they been taken?
Under India's animal welfare framework, the relocation of community dogs is subject to applicable legal safeguards.
An institution like yours has a responsibility to set an example in the country on how science should lead the way forward - but you did the complete contrary.
Kindly disclose the current location and condition of all four dogs.
Ensure that Julie, Snowy, and the other two dogs receive humane care and are not abandoned or placed in danger.
Provide a transparent account of the decision-making process and the authority responsible.
These dogs are living beings, not objects to be moved out of sight. Their welfare cannot be treated as an afterthought.
@isro , please answer:

A community dog was allegedly shot 5 times in Jaipur, suffering injuries that required 40 stitches. Yet activists allege that no FIR has been registered and the accused is roaming free after reportedly spending just a day in custody.
Is he being shielded because he is reportedly the son of a former jailor?
Is law and order dead in Rajasthan?
Are some people above the law? Or have certain officers forgotten whom they are supposed to serve?
@jaipur_police @PoliceRajasthan preserve the CCTV evidence, register the appropriate case and ensure an impartial investigation. Justice cannot depend on family connections.
