💙🐺 BREAKING NEWS: HUGE VICTORY FOR WOLVES AND WILDLIFE! COLORADO REJECTS AMENDMENT 83! 🐺🚨 In a major victory for wildlife conservation, voters in Colorado, USA, have REJECTED controversial Amendment 83, stopping an attempt to enshrine hunting and fishing as constitutional rights and make them the preferred methods of wildlife management! The proposed amendment sparked serious concerns among wildlife advocates, who warned that it could make future protections for wolves, mountain lions, bears and other wild animals much harder to introduce. And now the people of Colorado have spoken! Amendment 83 failed to reach the 55% approval required to change the state’s constitution. Conservation organisations, including Project Coyote, are celebrating the result as a major victory for science-based wildlife management and the public’s right to influence how wild animals are protected. Importantly, this does NOT ban hunting or automatically protect all wolves from being hunted. But it prevents additional constitutional barriers being placed in the way of future wildlife protection efforts. ❤️🐺 For those of us who have spent our lives fighting for wolves and wildlife, this is incredibly encouraging news! Wolves deserve a future in the wild, and their protection should be guided by science, not politics. 👏 A HUGE congratulations to the wildlife organisations, campaigners and Colorado voters who helped defeat this amendment!
