Wind turbines usually last for around two decades. Wind turbine blades can't be recycled so they wind up in landfills or get incinerated. The latter disposal method obviously releases GHGs & probably creates a bunch of possibly toxic by-products.
Replying to @DownToEarth
2/5 It’s not just Denmark. Across Europe, nearly 52,000 tonnes of blades are set to be decommissioned every year by 2030, potentially generating waste along the way. Here’s the hitch: wind turbines are not fully recycled @VDekimpe

This is why no one in the Netherlands gets hired anymore, and it's only the country with the 2nd highest employment rate in the world
As a Dutch person let me tell you it's way worse than it seems. The AVERAGE stress related absence is 250+ days. The AVERAGE burnout related absence is 300+ days. While on sick-leave, you can return to work for just 4 weeks and the 2 year period **resets**. Your employer is forced to assist you in this. They have to pay for doctors, experts, and so on. If they don't, you get an extra year's wages. While on sick-leave, you can work a second job. As long as this is outside business hours of the first job, or the work is different, your first employer still pays you 70%. Here's another cool one: you can go on holiday during sick-leave. The employer can force you to use your vacation days for that, but then they have to pay you 100% of your wages rather than 70% during that period. Simple solution: you just work with contractors right? No, because a contractor can just claim employee status after getting sick. Many such cases. All of this is obviously broken. If you say this you're met with half-baked "worker's rights" arguments, as you can see in this comment section.

Yeah all the bots and maga accounts has moved onto Quebec. The amount of "proud Quebecois" whose accounts are based in the USA has shot way up.
Am I just lucky with my algorithm, or has Alberta seperatism bs quieted way down after the referendum? All the stuff I'm seeing rn is solely Quebec bs.

Fantastic Article! For decades, Canada has pursued a self-mutilating industrial policy. We cannot afford to be agnostic to ownership. We must stop subsidising companies that have no commitment, interest, or stake in Canada.
Stelco and Stellantis show the limits of branch-plant economics. Public support should go to firms that commit to lasting jobs, ownership, and benefits in Canada. Glad to participate in this public conversation. See my new @globeandmail op-ed here: theglobeandmail.com/business…

They're admitting to what the U.S. has been doing to Canada for decades Remember The Bay/HBC? North America's oldest corporation? In business since 1670, it survived turmoil + 2 World Wars. But Americans got their hands on it and they killed it They're doing the same to Stelco
Cleveland-Cliffs CEO: I bought Stelco because I could not afford anymore having Stelco flooding the market here in the United States to the detriment of my own company. David Cochrane: Am I understanding you correctly there? It was a defensive acquisition?

No more foreign ownership. Canada’s cheap industrial energy prices meant our steel sector has a competitive edge so a US company bought Stelco and shut it down. We need economic patriotism not neoliberalism.

Same EU. Completely different levels of trust in national governments. Luxembourg: 75% Denmark: 59% Portugal: 54% Spain: 34% France: 21% Greece: 21% Europe is politically integrated. Its political cultures are still worlds apart.

Canada has in fact interfered in another nation’s politics. In December 2025, this current Liberal government made the Australian science minister Tim Ayres ineligible to sit in parliament and depriving the Labor government, which doesn’t have a majority in the Senate, a senator.

Past and present elide in Jan Sandström's memorable arrangement of 'Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen'. The Swedish composer revisits the old German hymn, slowing it down so the tune seems to stretch out into time and space, suspended in a cloud of harmony.

Conservatives didn’t ‘win’ so much as the NDP lost.
Fwiw, I *also* hate the BoomerCon party.

2.1% inflation. Another Danish economic success story on top of high wages, budget surpluses for around a decade and low debt-to-GDP ratio (~30%).
Annual inflation up to 3.8% in both the EU and the euro area. 📈 Lowest annual inflation rates in September 2026 were in: 🇸🇪 Sweden (1.0%) 🇭🇺 Hungary and 🇩🇰 Denmark (both 2.1%) And highest in: 🇷🇴 Romania (6.5%) 🇱🇹 Lithuania (6.1%) 👉 link.europa.eu/r4wMkM

The separatists option got fewer votes than the number of signatures that would have been required to get the question on the ballot had Danielle Smith not changed the law to lower the threshold. In other words, Smith is to blame for putting us through this despicable exercise.
Smith insisting the law forced her to put this separation q on the ballot. No. The law required govt to consider the proposed question. And Smith lowered the signature threshold to 177k from 600k. The secessionist option garnered 496,890 votes w 94% of polls reporting.

Alberta separatists have accepted the results of the referendum and are moving on... ...to researching which government buildings are easiest to storm.

Fascinating to see how divorced from reality this app can be. If you relied only on this app for info you’d think AB was proseparatist. Reality: the opposite. As someone raised in AB I knew that so I found it funny accts on this app told me I know nothing about AB or I was wrong.
