"Ask how much money is invested in ending #FoodWaste, and you'll see charts looking at recycling, upcycling, composting & other business ventures. Meanwhile, dollars going into food recovery are considered charitable giving. It's time to turn that narrative around." @JenEngland

Shocked when I recall that I've had ME/CFS for 13 years and in all that time have never once been offered any medical help. What sort of society just ignores tens of thousands of chronically ill people? More than a political-medical failure, it's a failure of humanity.

35 years, and yes - it is a national embarrassment/shame that this never gets funding. There would be no people with Long Covid if MECFS had research had been funded from the 1980s onwards.

It’s Back-to-School and #HungerActionMonth, and for millions of children that means a return to regular meals. But for students leaving a more stable food supply to attend college on their own, back to school can mean a return to hunger. foodrescuehero.org/back-to-s…

I think a lot of people in social change spaces have a really colonial & extractive view of “community” where community = a group with shared characteristics that they can opt in or opt out of as it affords them utility and is a source of comfort.
