There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture. The wolf begged to be freed. “I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!” The shepherd cut the rope. The next night, three lambs were gone. Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness. By winter, half the flock was dead. An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?” The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.” The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.” That’s the lesson. Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.

The West: Why did you commit the terror attack? Terrorist: My religion dictates it. The West: So climate change? Terrorist: No, my religion. The West: So beard bullying? Terrorist: No, my religion. The West: So, violent video games then? Terrorist: No, my religion. The West: So, American imperialism then? Terrorist: No, my religion. The West: So the Zionist entity forced you to defend yourself? Terrorist: FFS, it's MY RELIGION. Conclusion from the West: Terror attacks stem from a confluence of paleo-botanical-sociocultural-ethnopolitical forces that requires a nuanced analysis. What is absolutely clear though is that this has nothing to do with religion.

“Here I am thinking a farmer being murdered every week is normal. It’s not! This is normal!” I vehemently and viscerally disagree with this man on that one point. And I want everyone to read it. Don’t get it twisted. I LOVE the fact that he loves America and feels safer here than South Africa. I do. It’s so amazing to see. But what he described as normal…. people getting killed all the time… THAT IS NORMAL. THAT IS THE NORM. AMERICA IS THE EXCEPTION. We forget that civilization is merely a clearing in a hostile jungle carved out by man. And the jungle constantly tries to reclaim it. America is precious. It must be preserved. There is nowhere to go if this land falls. Peace is the exception of the human condition. Death and violence is the norm. Remember this.

Serious question: why should Englishmen fight to defend the prerogatives of a ruling class that has utterly failed in its duty to the people it governs? And not only that, but seems to actively despise them?

Leftists in Iran genuinely believed that by allying with islamic extremists against the Shah, they would achieve socialist utopia. And then they were all shot, hanged or driven into exile. I am begging the West to understand that history is about to repeat itself.

You know someone was an effective anti-communist when the leftist cockroaches celebrate that person’s death. But when the bastards celebrate the ANNIVERSARY of someone’s death….that person was an anti-communist JUGGERNAUT. Strive to be as effective as Charlie. Every day.

Thanks to a much appreciated plug of my books by Conan and Matt Groening, my short story "The Monster That Wouldn't Sink" is currently the #1 Best Seller on Amazon (in a very small and obscure category). I plan to use a portion of the $12 I will make on this for good deeds.

Reporters use the label "far right" 3 to 14 times more often than "far left." The term implies that the parties opposing mass migration are undemocratic. In fact, they're winning elections. The real fascists are the ones censoring, banning, and prosecuting their enemies.

In the late 1980s I went to graduate school at @UChicago as a young socialist intending to prove Chicago economics wrong. One of the first things I discovered, in a class taught by George Stigler, was that the standard of living of working class Brits was increasing well before any significant labor movement or labor regulation existed. But Marx, and all left leaning intellectuals, had claimed that capitalism immiserated the working class. That claim was empirically falsified by 1850. By the late 19th century, Eduard Bernstein, an associate of Engels, broke with Marxism because it had so obviously been falsified on this point. What are we to do with Marxism’s continued survival in academia such that the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy can publish such absolute garbage in 2026? All of @VincentGeloso ‘s claims below are completely accurate. It is embarrassing. Marxist academics in 2026 are like limping, drooling old fools who don’t realize they have soup stains on their shirts and snot running down their faces. Yet they still believe they are avant-garde young heroes.

The joke works because it isn’t a joke. A huge chunk of these women spent years screaming that women are no different from men when it comes to handling the most powerful and demanding positions in the world. They demanded the same authority, the same trust and the same accountability. Then one of them sends her husband out for takeout, wraps exercise bands around her 5-year-old, her 3-year-old and her 8-month-old, and suddenly we are told it was hormones, sleep deprivation, a broken system and that any one of us could have been her. Give me a fucking break. That is not solidarity or feminism. It is the same old chauvinist argument women spent decades calling oppression: women are too emotional, cannot be trusted when their hormones take over and should be protected from the consequences of their own actions. All those pink shirts and “Same Lindsay” videos do is prove the very thing women fought against for decades. Postpartum psychosis is real and it is rare, but turning a woman who killed her three children into a movement, a personality and a hashtag is grotesque. You do not get to demand your place in the boardroom, on the bench and in the war room, then throw accountability out the window the moment a woman does something monstrous. Three children are dead. That is the story, not her trauma, not her hormones and not the fact that you see yourself in her. Three children are dead, and no amount of pink shirts, hashtags or therapeutic language changes what she did.

The same thing happened to the medical journals; they all turned hard left. Here is why: xitter.gq/DrInsensitive/status/1…
Politics is Not "Makers versus Takers." It just seems like it is. The battle of Left vs. Right feels like the battle of Flea vs. Dog, but that's the wrong frame. IMO, the real distinction is not between parasite and host, but rather between two survival strategies: Living off the Earth vs. Living off people. Those sound like the same thing, so let me phrase them better: Politics is not Makers vs. Takers; it is Producers vs. Influencers. It's not Dog vs. Flea; it's Dog vs. Flea whispering into the dog's ear. This framing is better because it explains our career choices; it predicts more outcomes; and it delivers actionable advice. For example, doctors have historically been mostly Republican, while medical ethicists are overwhelmingly Democrat. (I'm in a doctor family.) Doctors tend to be Republicans because they repair things. Conceptually, doctors are plumbers. They operate on physical objects in the physical world, subject to the discipline of impartial physical laws that cannot or should not be moved with your tongue, and sometimes they get sprayed with bodily fluids. Like plumbers, their performance can be measured objectively. (Did the patient die? How many turds on my kitchen floor?) By contrast, consider medical ethicists: They live entirely within the realm of words, and their performance cannot be measured. That's the kind of job that attracts Leftists. Medical schools are another example, and they show why Producer-vs-Influencer is a better frame than Host-vs-Parasite. (This will also be my first prediction, but it won't impress you because it's already coming true.) Unfortunately, while "Doctor" is a producer job, "Medical school administrator" is not. Every administrator made the conscious choice to control doctors rather than to become one. The administrator's job may be vital, but he doesn't make anything real, or even repair it. That's why, when doctors gratefully handed the tedious administrative tasks over to professional bureaucrats, our medical schools turned hard Left. Now medical students are compelled to pledge their loyalty to wokeness. This is actually true. As professional bureaucrats consolidate their control, squeezing the actual doctors out of medical-school administration, we should expect our future doctors to be more influencers, and less producers. That means you might die, but you won't mind because your young doctor will have a fabulous bedside manner. I predict this trend will continue until doctors re-shoulder the burden of medical school administration, under rules that ensure they remain doctors. To get that prediction from the Parasite-vs-Host framing, we must say that medical school administrators are parasites. Certainly some are, probably most of them, but the sad fact is medical schools need administrators as much as they need plumbers, to perform a vital yet distasteful function so the actual doctors won't have to. Ditto for hospitals, which used to be run by doctors, but are now mostly run by MBAs. Double ditto for medical journals, because "Journal editor" is a pure influence job. Thus the medical journals have all turned extreme Left, even though journal editors are not parasites. An actionable prediction: Any influence position will attract the Leftist-influencer personality type, and repel the producer type. So when you create, say, a medical review board with power to approve or deny drug trials, the people who volunteer to serve will mostly be Democrats. If you don't like the medical example, let's talk about plumbers. A plumber produces something tangible, so most plumbers are Republicans. Unless his income depends on his union status. (About 25% of plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters have union jobs, according to Perplexity, which is usually wrong.) Unions are designed to insulate their members from reality, to allocate jobs and income by seniority or by pull, rather than by output. It's much harder to walk in off the street and get a union job; usually you must know someone. In other words, unions are less about production, and more about influence, so union plumbers will be more Democrat than free-range plumbers. And union administrators will be the most Democrat of all. Some jobs lie midway between producer and influencer. For example, a computer programmer is partly a producer, because he creates a product that must work. His code must execute without error and satisfy the project requirements. However, few programmers face the full test of reality, because their code need not reflect anything in the physical world. The physics in Grand Theft Auto need not be accurate; it only needs to please humans. Thus, coding is a mix of production and influence, so coders are a mix of Republicans, Libertarians, and Democrats. (This is actually true.) I predict the coders who write games are more Democrat than the guys who write CAD software, because CAD physics has to be right, not just look right. You can't get this prediction from the Parasite-vs-Host framing. The influencer personality recoils from the implacable tests of physical reality, so he will avoid producer jobs. By contrast, a producer might take an influence job, because he can satisfy his producing needs elsewhere. A Right-wing author will usually do something real in his spare time, like building his own deck or restoring classic cars. So a few Republicans might volunteer to serve on your Medical Review Board, out of a sense of duty. In a Leftist author's spare time, he will tour wineries. Of all the jobs on Earth, surely the two that are most devoted to pure influence are the politician and the critic. Even an author, who toils in the realm of words, must produce a book. A literary critic does not meet even that low bar. And of course, politics is influence personified, so we should expect most politicians to be the influencer personality type (I.e., Leftist) even if they pretend to be Republicans. So here is my actionable advice: To judge whether a Republican candidate is a RINO imposter, inquire into his hobbies. Ask him to show us a few things he made with his own hands. If he flies a homebuilt airplane, he's a good gamble.

I was once a Scientific American subscriber. I loved that magazine; reading it was one of the highlights of my month. I canceled, and wept for what the magazine was becoming, when they published a theme issue that was a transparent political hit job. Sounds like current news? No. That was 40 years ago. The hit job was on the Strategic Defense Initiative. Reagan was in the White House. And I... I couldn't figure out why nobody was saying the obvious in public. That SciAm had been sock-puppeted by a Soviet influence operation desperate to keep the US from exploiting its technological advantage. Ideological capture of the scientific establishment is not a new problem. As much as I hate the Communists behind it, I'm even angrier with all the scientists who averted their eyes and never pushed back while the capture was going on. Our civilization gave them a position of high status, privilege, and trust. A priori I don't think we were wrong to do that - until they failed in the duty that went with that trust. It's difficult for me to express how personally painful I found this. I revered research scientists as a child and young man - I could not imagine any higher calling than to be one myself. Until they betrayed civilization, and in the process betrayed me. So, this isn't a new problem. What's new is that the post-2014 woke insanity has made it too obvious to miss. It's time for a dissolution of the monasteries. The culture of science, to the extent it is transmitted forward, must learn a harsh and terrible lesson about the consequences of allowing scientific neutrality to be abandoned for a mess of politics.
The degeneration of Nature, Science, NEJM, and Scientific American into woke propaganda dispensers (and their refusal to publish normie, centrist, common-sense responses) is a scientific scandal.
