Weird test. The results also say I'm a political pragmatist and religious missionary.

Chuck Schumer refused to endorse Zohran Mamdani for mayor. He also never said anything about Rep Ilhan Omar’s house being raided. Schumer has no place in Democratic Party leadership.

Supremely important that our senators have personally satisfying career arcs.
Re @ChuckSchumer, I think there is some sentiment in the Senate of "let him enjoy this win and go out on top." Meaning that he is likely to retire in 2028 (he soon turns 76), rather than go to war for his seat against a young, popular, formidable challenger like AOC. 1/

You can’t tell me that James Talarico, Adam Hamilton or any of these red state Dems are “centrists” in the mold of Joe Biden or other corporatist Dems from the ‘90s. They talk like Bernie Sanders, they are populists. We’ve undergone a realignment. The old terms mean nothing.
Talarico argues pro-business really means pro-big business, socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for everyone else “I've seen that when people talk about being pro-business, what that usually means is being pro-big business, right?” “we basically subsidize Walmart through Medicaid because they don't give their employees quality healthcare.” “So again, socialism for the rich, rugged individualism for the rest of us.” “And this is not a radical vision. It's what we had before.” w/ @jamestalarico

Btw, just because people don’t seem to realise this. Jackson winning in Maine IS impressive. “Oh it was a bad year to be a Republican” yes, but so was 2008 and Collins won by 23 points
Meanwhile on Tiktok, this is going viral from Troy Jackson. If you want to know why Neera Tanden and Ezra Klein are crashing out at the progressives that won.

Acting like flipping Maine is no big deal vs Susan Collins should disqualify you from giving electoral takes
Schumer flipped literally every seat that was actually difficult. Leftists flipped...Maine, a blue state, in the biggest blue wave of my lifetime. Schumer won Mississippi, Iowa, and probably Alaska. Leftists won zero elections that anyone with a pulse and a D next to their name wouldn't have taken down

The reason there are nazis in the ukranian military is the same reason why there were jihadists in the bosnian army and why hamas was created in palestine. Oppression breeds increasing radicalism as a response. If you want less nazis in ukraine, change their material conditions.
Some leftists do have a point that Ukrainian fascists are a legitimate problem and do commit war crimes, but what they also fail to realize is that the Russian invasion is itself the reason Ukrainian fascists are that much of a problem in the first place.

Let’s be clear. Chuck Schumer gave Haley Stevens $10m because of her devout love for Israel. He gave Angie Nixon zero because of her opposition to genocide. Haley lost to Abdul (twice!) Angie lost by 238k votes. His selfish, incompetent and treacherous actions cost us a Senate seat.

democrats so obviously had a massive tsunami DESPITE the leadership as evidenced by none of the leadership endorsed primary candidates winning anything at all and i don’t understand how people are pretending otherwise
The amount of pro-establishment democrat revisionism I've been seeing over the past 24 hours almost feels like a psy-op. Chuck Schumer endorsed two (2) candidates: One, Janet Mills, lost that Maine primary you point out. The other, Haley Stevens, lost and endorsed a republican.

What’s so funny about this is that the centrist Dems got their ideal corporate liberal against Collins in 2020 and she got smoked by 8 points on the same ballot that Biden WON. Troy Jackson dog walks Collins as a Medicare for all, dsa endorsed candidate the next cycle, and Ezra wants you to ignore it.
You'll be SHOCKED to learn that Ezra Klein thinks Democrats should ignore progressive victories.

Take away their fucking guns. Immigration is a PAPERWORK problem, they should be BUREAUCRATS if they have to exist at all. If someone """needs""" arresting they can go through NORMAL FUCKING CHANNELS about it.
It’s time for ICE to take the masks off, turn the body cameras on, and start answering to the American people who pay for their bloated budget.

This isn’t a threat. Realistically the left can’t do anything about Schumer or Jeffries. But the voters clearly don’t want either of them! Don’t ignore the voters!
Democrats are going to end up in the 85-90 seat majority range in the House and a 55-56 seat majority in the Senate. What exactly do you think you are threatening to do if the party ignores demands from leftists?

I agree that Korra (both the character & series) received a disproportionate amount of bad faith & often misogynistic hate, but I really don't like this revisionism where we pretend there were never any legitimate critiques of the show or that "aang glazers" are an actual problem

Steven Miller and his nativist faction know the time to implement their incredibly unpopular white nationalist policies is rapidly running out, so it looks like they’re going to gamble on a final, desperate push. We NEED congressional leadership capable of stopping them.

It's not just about blocking one "right-winger" from joining the Supreme Court. Democrats should block ALL of Trump's nominees. ALL means ALL. And honestly, if the Majority Leader can't make that happen, someone else should take over, someone who can.
AP: Chuck Schumer vows to block Trump from appointing a “right-winger” to the US Supreme Court.

The victory for Sanders and Warren isn’t that their champions won on election night – it’s that all the winners on election night championed their ideas.
If tonight was such a win for moderates, why do all the ‘moderates’ sound like Bernie circa 2016?
