18 of the 20 best open models today are Mixture-of-Experts. Dense is basically over.
And yet the know-how to train a good MoE still lives mostly in the heads of a handful of teams.
So we spent 800k GPU hours running the experiments ourselves and wrote everything down. Super happy to finally release "The Ultimate MoE Training Handbook", free and open, organized around the questions training teams hit:
- how many experts, how big, shared or not?
- why is half my step spent in all-to-all, and how do I hide it?
- why is my run 25x slower with no error in the logs?
- softmax, sigmoid or sqrt(softplus) router, and why keep it in fp32?
- aux loss or DeepSeek's loss-free bias?
- upcycle a dense checkpoint or train from scratch?
- can I serve with fewer experts per token than I trained with?
⚠️ Warning: it's long (~70k words, budget a few days, sorry) but with 55 interactive figures, code you can run and numbers from our own runs.

A different approach to writing with AI - looking forward to seeing this develop
I really wanted to make an AI writing app that sounds like me.
The problem was I generate AI text in too many places... I can't always go to a dedicated writing app to start a piece.
For example, Claude Code drafts my case studies because it has access to the actual projects. Grokbot drafts LinkedIn outlines because it's already running and scanning other LinkedIn stuff for me. Etc.
I thought about maybe a skill or something that could get translated into all the different places I generate writing, but it's not practical... it would get continuously updated and add too much maintenance.
For me, the real key to AI writing isn't about telling AI to sound like me anyway... it's removing stuff that *doesn't* sound like me. Edits.
Also, I didn't want to train an AI on my past writing. My writing constantly evolves, and the most recent stuff I've written started with AI anyway. All the existing writing apps start with writing samples.
My favorite way to write an article, a post, a case study, etc. is to blab into a voice note and get all the actual content I want to say out of my head. It's super disorganized and all over the place, but then AI cleans it up into a coherent structure.
All that's left for me is to remove the AI-sounding phrases and fix the fake examples it makes up 😂.
Anyway, all that is to say I finally built something. An AI writing app that's based around editing first.
You create a new document, paste AI-generated text from anywhere, and then you edit it. The system learns from your edits, and after 2-3 docs, it auto-edits whatever you paste to sound like you.
At that point, additional edits continue to train the system, but it's 90% there really fast.
The final step... an MCP. So now you can connect to wherever you're generating AI writing originally, and it knows how to sound like you for the initial draft. Always up to date.
Boom.
This is a product that everyone needs, and it will be a huge unlock because it solves an enormous modern problem... the AI-sounding slop problem.
Waitlist soon. Beta testers sooner.
One of the best use-cases for AI agents - scamming scammers!
the fact that AI agents are scamming scammers now is so funny to me lol
this one startup uses fake AI voices to bait scammers and sells what it learns to banks
so far apate's bots have wasted literally 17 years of scammers' time
it started when the founder got a scam call at a family picnic
instead of hanging up he decided to play dumb for fun, and kept the scammer talking for 44 minutes
but then he realized every minute on that call was a minute the scammer couldn't spend on a real victim
and that he was actually learning potentially useful info from the call
so he built bots to do it for him, and now they trick tens of thousands of scammers every day
here's how it works:
1. the bots pose as regular people with different ages, accents and languages
2. they answer scam calls and reply to shady texts and emails
3. they play along until the scammer gives up phone numbers, bank accounts and crypto wallets
4. Apate passes all of that to banks, phone companies and government agencies so they can go after the scams
my favorite part is the company says it celebrates every time a scammer swears at one of its bots lol

Have your agent call my agent
This is ridiculous. My Instinct agents just held a weekly standup with my coworkers' Instinct agents, they took away action items, then acted on them to advance our project forward.
Sooo the best part of Instinct is also the sketchiest... that your AI agent talks to your friends' AI agents.
In my new 13-min guide:
(1) on a test project, our Instincts held a standup for me and two @tenex_labs coworkers. They drafted action items
(2) my buddy Connor had our agents built us a Spotify-blend-style daily digest attuned to our interests as AI workers
(3) goals > tasks: it got my GEICO claim reopened after months on hold.

Could Muse become the AI agent for small business?
Muse for SMBs might be the most underrated story in consumer agents right now
They have near-infinite consumer distribution at very low cost, with a base of 3.64 billion daily active users across Meta apps
But even more importantly, more than 500M SMBs use Meta for marketing. If Meta gives agent discoverability (preferred or not) to that SMB base, it could be a huge boost, especially for local businesses who can hyper-target users with urgent purchase needs
Meta said in their Q3 earnings calls (and in blog posts prior) that they plan to build an ecosystem of connectors for SMBs in Muse - analytics across your Meta accounts plus QuickBooks, Canva, Stripe, etc.
Many of these businesses are already trusting Meta with their growth / ad dollars - I could see Muse becoming almost a nervous system for SMBs that allows Meta to capture more and more of their activity over time
Shopify has already leaned into this (@tobi) - Muse can search across the Shopify catalog and complete purchases for consumers, and businesses can manage their Shopify store in Muse via a connector
And, the early Muse user base has shown a willingness to purchase via agents. 25% have completed a transaction via Muse, with average purchase size over $200. And, the top activity on Muse is shopping
Very curious to see what comes next here, especially with holiday gifting on the horizon 👀

It’s crazy to think about but a company's most valuable AI asset could be its accumulated record of what good work looks like.

We're entering the extreme copy/paste era of short-form video.
Yes, trends and ideas have always been copied.
The difference is that now, it takes 0 effort. The copies are fully automated with AI.
You can just run a /skill scraping IG/TT for top performing posts, automatically recreating them with your avatar or diff characters en masse, at scale.
People are creating dozens of variations, running them all as trial reels bc there is no penalty for quantity.
Unfortunately, this is going to 100X.
Because it works, and marketers are starting to figure out how to max leverage it.
I think short-form video algorithms will have to be seriously re-thought in the coming year.
