From Monday 26 October, the section between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street will be traffic-free.
All traffic will be diverted from the evening of Sunday 25 October 🚗🚲🚌

🚌 Bus drivers can have to go hours without access to a toilet; forced to hold it in or use bottles or hedges. Unite bus workers have been campaigning for years for access to clean lockable toilets and hand washing facilities. This is another huge win for the capital's bus drivers.
Authorities and operators across the UK and Ireland must now follow suit

You know Tom, it's almost like I *already knew* back in June what the truth was, and worded my question to expose the Mayor's duplicitous nature!
As you know perfectly well, loads of buses don't have AC but back in June the Mayor decided to pretend they did hoping to fob me off.

Correction: in August I said London bus drivers accidentally pressing the wrong pedal causes 2 crashes per month. It turns out it's 3.

Tom hasn’t merely been criticising TfL from the outside. He’s repeatedly walked through the doors of City Hall and put the evidence directly in front of the people responsible.

The Deputy Mayor for Transport also seems unaware that TfL has specified AC in London bus cabs for 20 years. The question is - why does it so often not work? And why has the Mayor been batting away questions for years by denying there's a problem?

Improving conditions for bus drivers was a personal priority for me.
That's why I pushed for air conditioning in every London bus cab - and I’m pleased to see an agreement between @TfL and @UnitetheUnion is making that happen.
