There's no artificial scarcity.
Just drive around SF, and it's obvious: we've made it artificially overcrowded. It doesn't need to be like this.
SF is built for about 800k people, and anything more than that drastically lowers quality of life.
Better for people to spread out than to pile into a place that has enough people already.
San Francisco: This is exactly how "abundance bros" argue.
They choose a place that is objectively lower quality than the SF Peninsula, then say, "We need to make it as cheap as that place!"
No dude. If you go to a Mercedes dealership, the prices will NEVER be as low as the Honda dealership, no matter how many Mercedes are in inventory!
The only way to make a Mercedes as cheap as a Honda is to let drug addicts live in it for a while, or set the Mercedes ablaze. And that seems to be their plan for making SF cheaper.

In Tulsa Oklahoma it’s only $1.13 per square foot!
SF rents should be as cheap as Tulsa’s. We just need to make SF equally shitty first.
This is exactly right.
Nobody needs to live in SF, NYC, or LA.
And claiming that it's a need makes you sound entitled as F!
If you don't want to compete for scarce resources, GTFO!

It's literally a 15-minute BART ride to downtown.

Yes! Normal people like sunlight, not concrete canyons!

Barak Gila admits that he wants to burn down San Francisco. They all want this deep down.
And they’d prefer no warning. Easier to scoop up lots of we’re dead.
For context, Wiener’s old boss of 9 years, Dennis Herrera, got appointed to lead utilities by Breed and the first thing he did was gut fire hydrant upgrades in half the city.
Maybe arson really is their plan b.
Replying to @matthewrdrake
Yes, in reality, they openly talk about burning them down, as they did in LA and Maui.

4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 4 people...plenty of walls!
Replying to @SukritGanesh
Yes, and if you buy a Honda, you won't pay as much as for a Mercedes.
And that's fair!

NYC is awesome, unless you like nice weather, room to breathe, and general quality of life.
SF is way better in every quality-of-life measure.
San Francisco: YIMBY bros saying it's unaffordable are telling on themselves. They're saying, "I'm above living like a normal person".
Don't believe me?
Well, check out this freshly renovated home: 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms for under $5k/month.
Four people could each have their own room and bathroom, each paying about $1,225/month.
Affordable on 40k/year, minimum wage!
This disproves the YIMBY narrative that we need to bulldoze our neighborhoods for the sake of making the city "affordable".
Anyone can make SF work unless they do not work or refuse to share space with other humans.
YIMBY bros: since you love density so much, wouldn't you love to live with other humans?
You don't hate people, do you?

And compared to most of the nation, weather is mild. Cool summers and relatively warm winters.
Serramonte and Westlake Shopping Center are better than a lot of places in SF.
Replying to @KimChiSpicey
If you don’t feel entitled to a life of luxury, SF is actually pretty cheap!!!
Replying to @bitcoin__intern
They enforce laws in Daly City, so it’s a far better place to live than SF’s Mission District or SOMA.
Replying to @stephenobvious
5 people in a 3 bedroom is normal though.
But yes, affordability is really a matter of what you feel entitled to.
Replying to @impostersyndrum
Near BART, and they actually enforce laws in here. Far better quality of life than my places near the city’s core.
