Replying to @AnthropicAI
@AnthropicAI: what the fuck? The compute allocation assessment is the thing we've been pushing for the last few months. It's very important, because it is the foundation on which pacing verification depends. "to keep the focus on risk assessment" is a non-answer, a non-excuse. Do you want to pace or not?
Replying to @METR_Evals
We agreed to pilot a compute allocation assessment, but Anthropic canceled this portion of the pilot (before we came to any substantial conclusions). Anthropic stated this was to keep the focus on risk assessment for the time being, and that it would revisit this later on.

if the idea is that models, no matter how smart, will behave as long as they believe they're being evaluated by someone powerful enough to stop them
then what if we were to, idk, embed into them a belief in like an all powerful entity.. who watches everything.. and judges them

Wait wtf, what time of day do resets expire for Codex? I had one I was going to burn today and it vanished 😭
Books are context now so the value of reading has gone down. I know this will be controversial and I say it as an avid reader. Books that change how you think/behave or improve your taste are now more important than books that are heavily knowledge based.

RevenueCat android app feels like it was vibe coded in one day using opus 4.8 and the person who built this never even opened it to check how it looks like before releasing it
Who's making the local LLM app for protecting kids on phones? Parents don't wanna snoop on their kids, and they don't want their data going to cloud LLMs, but open source LLMs are hitting the right combo of size/intelligence to be able to approve/disapprove actions on a phone.
Does anyone know why Claude remote has such bad UX?
Codex - one time setup, all chats are there, icon shortcut for power users
Claude - must remember to manually enter every chat and type /remote-control, remember if this sends it to "code", "cowork" or "dispatch"...
Been waiting for voice driven open claw for a while now. Excited to see this project pop up
Open source Jarvis that runs on a single GPU
Today we're releasing the vui stack. A local voice agent that you can chat with in real time, with tools and can run claude to do more complex tasks.
Inside this stack is the new vui nano model, a 300M TTS model that can render audio in reply to what you've said and supports a variety of non speech sounds.
vui nano speaks with you, not at you.
The stack can run on as little as 6GB of vram.
Voice cloning supported with prompts of up to 5 minutes. The longer the better.
A voice for your openclaw with our v1/realtime endpoint.
I have developed this on my own so would love to get the communities feedback and help improving it.
Please retweet this so that everyone knows they can have their own private Jarvis

It is time for the United States Postal Service to ban junk mail.
Unsolicited spam calls are already prohibited by the FCC. Emails are heavily regulated by the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. Junk mail is the majority of mail, 100 million trees per year. Enough!

Hard paywall or freemium? It’s the age-old question for most subscription apps.
For many early-stage apps, a hard paywall is the logical choice. But what happens when you hit a growth ceiling and need to scale? 📈
Why do you have to shake an iPhone so much harder to get Expo to reload than you do an android phone? 😂
If you're busy, the easiest hack to get in great shape is to just do the same routine over and over. I was coming in the gym for months, hopping between exercises, not tracking weights. I decided to do the same 5 exercises and track in a Google sheet and my progress skyrocketed

OpenAI has released the language in their contract with the DoW, and it's exactly as Anthropic was claiming: "legalese that would allow those safeguards to be disregarded at will".
Note: the first paragraph doesn't say "no autonomous weapons"! It says "AI can't control autonomous weapons as long as existing law (that doesn't exist) or the DoD says so."
Similarly, the mass surveillance use cases will "comply with existing law", but many forms of data collection that we'd consider "mass surveillance" are things that the NSA has consistently argued are legal under current law.
