I wrote an actual book!!! 🥹💛✍🏽📚 I self-published it and printed 30 copies. All 30 found loving homes with supporters and collectors this past weekend during @artblocks_io Marfa Weekend. Sharing this work felt cathartic, healing, and freeing. What feels most meaningful is knowing that something created from such a personal place moved other people, too. Some of my favorite artists came by and took a copy home, which still feels surreal. Reading the poems aloud to collectors at the Art Blocks Artist Fair was an experience I hope to repeat! Each of the 22 code poems in “self.love() poems;” is paired with one of the 22 1/1 artworks in my collection, Conservation of Energy. I don’t see this as a change in the direction of my artistic journey. It feels like an expansion into what the work has been calling me to explore. The book and the collection are two expressions of the same story. I’ll be sharing much more about them in future posts 💛 THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK A COPY OF MY BOOK HOME!
