The monks that created the Book of Kells probably had cats to protect their supply of food in the monastery. In folio 48r, a beautifully striped cat chases a mouse that has a hold of a communion host. #NationalCatDay 🐈🐁

10 years ago, @FlavioBolsonaro ran for mayor of Rio de Janeiro. In the debate, he passed out & shit his pants (yes, really). One of the candidates was a doctor & tried to help. His dad, Jair, yelled "communist, get your hands off my son!" & "01, did you turn yellow? Do pushups!"
1. That sounds like a pedo speaking
2. Then bigotry and violence
He unleashes his cult and he knows the harm

You sir are an absolute bigot, This relentless anti Irish campaign to vilify us, is becoming absolutely deplorable. The sheer arrogance of an American lecturing an entire sovereign nation for daring to criticise the Israeli government and stand up for Palestinian human rights is quite extraordinary.
And perhaps the most disgraceful aspect of your entire rant is what you conspicuously fail to mention even once, the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Not a word about the tens of thousands killed in Gaza. Not a word about the children buried beneath rubble, families destroyed, hospitals devastated, mass displacement or the catastrophic humanitarian crisis. Absolutely nothing.
Instead, you and your little groupies on here , concern is apparently Ireland’s criticism of Israel and whether our high-tech economy might suffer as a consequence. What an extraordinary set of priorities.
Let’s establish something you seem determined to ignore. Criticism of the Israeli government is not antisemitism. Supporting Palestinian human rights is not hostility towards Jewish people. Repeating that dishonest conflation doesn’t make it true.
And here’s another distinction. Unlike the United States, Ireland does not have an AIPAC-style political lobbying machine wielding enormous influence over its foreign policy. AIPAC’s political spending and influence in Washington are well documented.
Ireland is perfectly entitled to pursue an independent foreign policy without being subjected to economic scare tactics.
Ireland is a sovereign democracy, not an American subsidiary. We don’t require Washington’s approval to defend international law, condemn the killing of civilians or demand accountability from any government, including Israel’s.
And spare us the suggestion that Ireland’s humanitarian concerns constitute some irrational national obsession. The real question is why our willingness to speak about Palestinian suffering seems to offend you more than the suffering itself.
You managed to write an entire attack on Ireland without expressing a single word of compassion for Palestinian civilians.
That is perhaps the most damning indictment of your argument. Not Ireland’s supposed obsession with Israel, but your extraordinary determination to make Ireland the villain while the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza barely warrants a mention.
You sir might also want to address the uncontrollable antisemitism that’s rife across the US before doing Israel’s bidding to vilify Ireland
Ireland will not be bullied into silence. And nor should it be.

Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), who represents New York’s 15th Congressional District in the Bronx, was filmed telling a young voter to “go fuck yourself.”
Today in the Bronx, a group of young people confronted Ritchie Torres about his pro-ICE record, and the money he takes from AIPAC and the rest of the pro-Israel lobby.
Instead of listening, he cursed them out.
Here are the facts. Ritchie Torres has taken over $2 million from the pro-Israel lobby. He voted for the Laken Riley Act, the first law Trump signed this term. It enables ICE to lock up undocumented immigrants who have only been accused of a crime, not convicted, even for something as small as shoplifting.
Then he voted for a resolution thanking ICE for “protecting the homeland.”
But Ritchie Torres is the symptom, not the disease. For over 20 years, Democrats have voted with Republicans to fund ICE while promising to deliver on “comprehensive immigration reform” that never came.
That’s how we got the deportation machine we’re living under today.
That same machine came for Alexander Nilaj, a pillar of our community who built the Open Hand food pantry right here in the Bronx. On October 13, ICE kidnapped him and took him to Delaney Hall. Without him, the pantry has stopped giving out food. Ritchie Torres has visited Alexander at Delaney Hall, but he and the Democrats helped build the very same machine that put Alexander there.
The Bronx is sick of ICE tearing our neighborhoods apart. The Bronx doesn’t want more meaningless measures like Ritchie’s proposal to put QR codes on ICE agents. The Bronx wants ICE out of our communities for good. The Bronx deserves leaders who will fight for full rights for every immigrant, now — not as a distant promise.
The Bronx needs and deserves socialism: a system where working people hold the political and economic power, and where billions go to housing, healthcare, and childcare instead of ICE and endless wars abroad.
