I am genuinely confused by the blowback around the Amy Acton ad. Yes, it’s a first for me to see a candidate’s estranged mother in an ad produced by her opponent. But politics is really ugly, right? And has been for a long time? This is nothing new? Amy’s mother wasn’t paid to appear or speak; she as an adult decided she wanted to do it, and so did Vivek, and when Amy decided to run, she knew skeletons might be dragged out. I’d say the same thing regardless of party affiliation.
