Absolutely insane. No one grasps how huge this is. The entire ecosystem of Cardano core code has just become accessible for dApp developers to leverage. No more transaction builders going out of sync and needing maintenance, or needing separate cek machine implementations for ex-unit costing, no more overcosting, no more waiting on new features, everything can be leveraged directly from Cardano and updates to Cardano become updates to all downstream tooling that wraps this WASM. Massive amount of engineering effort and money saved by taking advantage of this.
You can run full Haskell Cardano node in a web browser. Also balance and submit transaction fully on a browser as well.

It's not like I've been literally working on this topic for over 10 years of my life and launched a cryptocurrency that was number three on coinmarketcap with millions of users to deploy it. It's literally a crime in the Ethereum inner circles to mention Cardano. EUTXO is the biggest innovation of the smart contract world and Ethereum cannot mention it as they literally try to copy it.
Native UTXOs on Ethereum. Payments should be one-shot objects, not permanent state. Bitcoin got this right. Ethereum can bring the same idea to payments: prove existence from history, keep only a spent bit in state, and reduce permanent state by ~99.8%. Check out the blog post for details. ethresear.ch/t/native-utxos-…

REPOST but to Cardano: Dear @Cardano, we have been in deep discussion with @IOHK_Charles and how recent price declines will impact their budgeting needs / ability to deliver on IO proposals. Combine that with my sincere belief that we do require more structured leadership (in conjunction with constructive community involvement); @emurgo_io will shift to a "Yes" vote for IOR. We are at an existential moment for @Cardano where actions we take now will reverberate through our ecosystem. Also make no mistake, that every chain, is facing the same decision. EMURGO believes the following: 1. Leadership: At this time, I believe need an executive function that is led by Charles @IOHK_Charles, Fred @F_Gregaard and myself @phillip_pon alongside Jack @JBriggsLondon at Intersect. The community will and must be involved. 2. Infrastructure: We need to fund infrastructure and @IOGroup and some specific protocols / projects remain best positioned to ensure core needs are met. @Cardano_CF also does work on these matters, alongside @IntersectMBO. @emurgo_io maintains libraries that are used by nearly all Cardano projects. 3. Commercial: Investments must also be prioritised but we must also accept that most will fail. It is the nature of early stage investment but we must try to create a thriving ecosystem that embraces a multi-chain future. Strike offers other chains too. @LayerZero_Core is essential to this strategy as are @circle, @PythNetwork , @DuneAnaIytics and @FireblocksHQ. 4. Marketing & Branding: Web3 is fighting for attention in the age of AI. @Cardano has a unique opportunity to rise above the fray alongside @MidnightNtwrk @F_ZK_Now. Having said that, I am not a proponent of parties, happy hours, or 'free drinks'. Marketing & Branding are serious efforts that need to be led by serious people. I was recently at a dinner with a VC, Regulator, Market Maker, and prominent project where more was done to advance Cardano's relevance than a glad handing party of the usual faces. @emurgo_io will support serious Marketing and Branding efforts. There is a lot more I want to say but I want to call upon all DRep to vote "Yes" to the IOR proposal and for those who have abstained or voted "No" to reconsider. Price has changed, therefore, the value & importance of the proposal has increased.

In difficult times we need to stick together. Focus on the mission and ignore the haters. What we’re learning is that while there are many benefits of a decentralized system; an executive function to set the parameters is needed especially in an industry sector that has not fully matured. We welcome conversations with @IOHK_Charles @F_Gregaard @JBriggsLondon to perhaps revisit our current governance. I believe there is a place for the community, DReps and CCs but perhaps more focused in our asks or better incentivised. We have or will be reaching out to the FEs and Intersect to find a way forward. And in all the doom and gloom; we do have some positive announcements in the pipeline for Cardano. Stay tuned.
Healthy ecosystems are built on honest disagreement. Governance only works when people can challenge decisions, question direction, and hold organizations accountable including EMURGO. That is why the distinction between criticism and coordinated toxicity matters. One sharpens the ecosystem and the other is built to exhaust it, drown out builders, and manufacture fear when people dislike a governance outcome. When governance decisions do not go a certain way, the response from a small number of bad-faith actors is not debate. It is targeted harassment meant to intimidate participants and poison the conversation for everyone else. Our blocking process exists for this reason. It is not a way to avoid scrutiny. We welcome scrutiny. This process removes harassment and manufactured noise so genuine discussion has room to happen. Removing a bad-faith account does not silence a legitimate argument. A real point stands on its own. Coordinated abuse does not and treating the two as the same only rewards the people working to make this space unusable. More needs to be done and not by any single entity. A healthier culture is a shared responsibility across founders, DReps, builders, and community members. Toxicity drives away the exact people Cardano needs to keep building. EMURGO will keep participating in governance, and keep engaging in good faith with people who want to move Cardano forward. The work continues regardless of the noise, and that is where our energy belongs.

I keep seeing posts saying that Cardano needs a leader. To some extent, I understand the feeling. Right now there is a lot of distraction in the ecosystem. People are constantly arguing over governance, the treasury, price action, personal beefs, and everything else. But I do not think the problem is a complete vacuum of leadership. In reality, WE ALREADY HAVE LEADERS. You know who they are. Some people want Charles to be the central leader of Cardano again like he was years ago. But if we truly want a decentralized system, we cannot still rely on one person to tell everyone what to do and expect them to magically solve our problems. The truth is that leadership in Cardano is already distributed across the ecosystem. The real question is how much ownership people are willing to take. Alex Chepurnoy said this directly about Ergo. He said to take as much ownership of Ergo as possible. I think each of us needs to do the same for Cardano. Take as much ownership and responsibility as possible.

Cardano has proven itself as one of the most resilient and well-designed blockchain ecosystems in the industry. A focus on decentralization, stability, and long-term development continues to define its trajectory. We’re excited and proud to support @Cardano and everything being built around it. This is only the beginning! Big thanks to @Cardanians_io for the awesome video!

Hi @Cardano and @MidnightNtwrk In my years in crypto, I’ve not seen another founder like @IOHK_Charles who has worked so tirelessly for the success of the projects that they have founded and built. It is imperative that we come together and recognise that we do not have a right to remain in the top10 (or higher). @MidnightNtwrk completes a missing and essential core primitive that was built as a partner chain to @Cardano in mind. I understand that we are all feeling the pain of another crypto winter and it’s difficult to bear. But like all winters, it will end. However, we will only emerge stronger if we put aside old grievances (that sincerely distract us from moving forward) and show institutions (who are deciding which L1s to adopt) that we have a strong and committed community. We are not only stronger together (@Cardano x @MidnightNtwrk); but we are more relevant.
This has nothing to do with blind trust. We have made multiple disclosures about this topic and I will never back down. People building directly on midnight are aware about the bridge strategy. To say it's been miscommunicated is completely disingenuous. We have spent more than two years talking about this topic and even created bespoke protocols to facilitate it like Ouroboros Peras. The meta issue here is the perpetual lack of good faith and the assumption that midnight is the enemy of Cardano. I will repeat myself from the video that I shot. If this is allowed to fester Cardano will fail. I do not want to look back at the last 10 years of my life and mark it down with an L. For the sake of everyone who has sacrificed so much to try to get this ecosystem going, we have to stop self-sabotaging. We have to stop holding up people who try to tear us down.

Milestone moment: NIGHT is now live. 🕛 With today’s launch of NIGHT as a Cardano Native Asset (CNA), we’re officially kicking off the countdown to redemptions for the more than 4.5B tokens claimed during the Glacier Drop and Scavenger Mine phases. This marks the first step in bringing NIGHT to the community as we continue progressing toward a fully decentralized Midnight mainnet. Redemption windows will open in phases (“thaws”). The redemption portal will launch shortly beforehand to allow people to preview their allocations and thawing schedules ahead of time. ➡️ Learn what this means, how redemptions work, and what to expect next: midnight.network/blog/guide-…

Cardano post-mortem 🤔 A malicious actor copied a reported vulnerability from testnet to mainnet using a bit of AI to help him implement the attack quickly. The attack failed to break Cardano, but was effective enough to temporarily break wallets and dApps. As community we have learnt the following: 1) There has been a terrible way of communicating issues to the SPOs, the bug was discovered the day before and many SPOs didn't know anything about it 2) Many SPOs don't check the code they are running, they update their node trusting IOG blindly 3) The attack failed and was the heaviest attack Cardano received so far. The chain forked but didn't halt and the SPOs slowly converged to the proper fork 4) We crucially need different implementations of the Cardano node, if one is bugged the others will protect the chain 5) Running SPOs with different node versions actually protected the chain, because not all node versions suffered of this vulnerability 6) dApp and wallets NEED to implement a fail-safe logic when these rare events happen. No wallet or dApps was working during the attack 7) The attacker has been identified and will now face legal consequences. It is very difficult to be anonymous in a public blockchain without zero knowledge protocols 8) IOG, Foundation and Emurgo entered a war room together and coordinated for the first time. This must become the norm, we are all tired of them hating each other. Please spend your energies to fix the Cardano issues instead of putting blame about past mistakes. This effective and efficient war room was exactly the type of results we could get if you would stop behaving like children on Twitter 🤝🏻 Overall great experience, 9/10 would recommend to a friend 🤓
