Pain.
For anyone curious about what it actually looked like to kill a generation of functioning cars, here’s an actual video from 2009 and brief explanation:
The dealer first replaces the oil with sodium silicate solution. It’s a clear-ish liquid that crystallizes under extreme heat. As the engine warms up the solution begins to form small abrasive crystals in the oil system that shred the bearing and score the cylinder walls.
Within seconds of starting the car you can see smoke billowing from the exhaust, this is the crystals scratching the cylinder walls and leaving small grooves for oil and solution to leak past into the combustion chamber and ignite/evaporate, producing the white smoke.
Pretty soon the entire crankcase is full of crystals and freshly shredded metal flakes, the engine seizes. It took about 40 seconds in this video. Some engines reportedly lasted up to 7 minutes, but all were destroyed. That strikes me as sort of sad in a way, like watching a great warrior slowly lose a heroic last stand.
Now, this is the part that gets insanely wasteful. These cars were sent to federally approved recycling facilities where they had 180 days to sell the non-engine parts before they were required to prove that they had shred the entire thing into scrap steel.
But, in talking to a guy who ran one such facility at the time, he typically just sent them straight to the crusher. The timeframes allotted weren’t long enough to dismantle all of the cars, and even if you could, the marginal prices of the parts was greatly diminished. You cannot sell 1000 transmissions when only 50 went bad that year, they became worthless.
So just like that, in order to increase prosperity and save the environment, 677,000 entire running cars and trucks were turned directly into rebar worth a few cents per pound.
The entire Obama administration was like a chapter out of atlas shrugged.

Kaylub Giamanco, the hero father who fatally shot the gunman during the deadly Silver Rail Elementary School shooting in Bend, Oregon, is speaking publicly about what happened and the emotional toll it has taken on him.
In an emotional interview with OPB, the 36 year-old carpenter described the split-second decisions that led him to follow the armed 16 year-old into the school, saying, “I’m sorry. I have to go in. People are going to die.”
Three children, ages 5, 8 and 11, and a 25-year-old teacher were killed. Two other people were seriously injured.
Despite being credited with saving lives, Kaylub says he is struggling with the fact that he couldn't save everyone. He told OPB he replays the shooting in his head, hearing the screams and remembering the faces.
“I want to apologize for not saving their babies,” he said, fighting back tears as he thought about the families who lost their children.
He also praised the teacher who fought the gunman, saying her actions gave him the opportunity to intervene.
Prayers for Kaylub, his family, and every family affected by this horrific tragedy.

The black rifle coffee alpha male takes a sip from his thermos and looks out from the bunker to the battlefield, it’s hell out there. “Perfect” He thinks
He adjusts the sights on his custom-built 16-inch 6mm ARC AR-15 with a Proof Research carbon-fiber barrel, JP Enterprises silent captured spring system, and a Geissele Super Dynamic Enhanced two-stage trigger. He picked it because the trigger felt smooth against his $350 carbon fiber combat gloves, and the alloy magazines were 20 grams lighter against his $2200 Kevlar vest.
He mindlessly feels at his tactical pouch, he has a 10 year supply of testosterone cypionate in it, just in case the pharmacies get hit. He smirks, “Daddy needs his combat fuel.” He’s been on TRT for 7 years, his testes have cobwebs on them.
He steps out of the bunker, he’s spent years training for this moment, doing weighted carries, getting “don’t tread on me” tattoos, bow hunting, having a beard.
“It’s fuckin showtime.” He announces.
Just then he feels something lightly tap his leg. He glances down. It’s a 17 dollar drone off temu. It has a decal on it.
“Is that… hentai?”
His legs are blown smooth off.
12 miles away in a disgusting room illuminated only by the degenerate glow of purple LED strip lighting, a 17 year old leans back in his cum stained gamer chair. He’s grown so frail and sickly his friends and family keep mistaking him for Asmongold.
He grabs another 30mg vyvanse and washes it down with a cold chicken nugget.
“GG faggot”
He’s killed 500 men.

The Utah governor is working with a "movement of movements" to prepare for a "delegitimized federal government".
Oh, but it's "Domestic Terrorism" when I did the same thing during the Obama Administration.
