#News 16 YEARS AGO, THE JOURNEY BEGAN!
……..SOME IDEAS REFUSE TO DIE. THEY JUST WAIT FOR THEIR MOMENT!
Six years in the making, 16 years in history!
On this day in 2010, the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) made its debut as BROADCASTERS NITE OUT & AWARDS at the now-defunct Tribeca, No. 85 Adetokunbo Ademola Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The vision, however, dates back to 2004. Six years of dreaming, plotting and fine-tuning before the big night finally arrived!
The historic debut also witnessed the unveiling of Airwaveswatch Magazine, Nigeria’s first publication dedicated to television, radio, broadcasters and on-air personalities.
Sixteen years, countless memories and several milestones later, the microphone is still on. Apparently, some ideas have a very long shelf life and this one came with a loudspeaker!
#News The 7th NBMA may be over, but the winners are still celebrating, while the almost-winners are already eyeing redemption!
The trophies may be settled, but the NBMA story isn’t complete without the NBMA Radio Lounge, back to add extra sparkle and spice to the red carpet!
Our ‘Next BroadcastStars’, Pamela and Ekemini, took the mic as hosts, putting nominees and guests in the hot seat with questions that brought the heat!
Missed the action? Catch the highlights and relive the moments! #nbma2026 #7thnbmawards #NBMAwards

Comfort 95.1 FM, Uyo, made its mark at the 7th NBMA, taking home Best Radio Station (South-South), while its very own Mighty George scored a double triumph, winning Best Sportscaster and Best Radio Presenter! @_MightyGeorge
Three awards. One proud broadcasting family. A powerful testament to talent, teamwork and excellence.
This is what the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards is all about, recognising the voices, stations and professionals making a difference across Nigeria’s broadcasting landscape.
Comfort 95.1 FM, Uyo, you have every reason to celebrate!
The 7th NBMA has delivered its verdict. The winners are telling their stories. And the legacy of broadcasting excellence continues!

This is the power of recognition. This is what happens when excellence gets its moment in the spotlight.
At NBMA, every trophy tells a story, every winner adds to our legacy, and every edition raises the bar for broadcasting excellence.

12 YEARS. ONE DREAM. A WELL-DESERVED VICTORY.
In the story of excellence, some victories are not delayed; they are being prepared for.
Twelve years ago, Nifemi Oguntoye was nominated for the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards but went home without the trophy. For many, that might have been the end of the story. But not for excellence. Not for consistency. Not for resilience. @nifemioguntoye
Twelve years later, at the 7th NBMA, Nifemi returned to claim the victory that once eluded him.
What a story! From nominee to winner. From a moment of disappointment to a moment of triumph. A powerful reminder that one unsuccessful attempt does not define your journey, and one closed chapter does not mean the book is finished.
Sometimes, the trophy comes later, but the story is worth every page.
Nifemi’s story is more than an award. It is a testament to the enduring power of showing up, staying the course, and trusting the journey.
Now, it’s your turn!
Did you win, lose, get nominated, miss out, return, or witness a defining moment at the NBMA? We want to hear your story!
Tell us your NBMA story. Share the memories, the lessons, the disappointments, the breakthroughs, and the victories. Because beyond the trophies and the glamour, every broadcaster has a story worth telling.
What’s YOUR NBMA story? Tell it. We are listening.
#NBMA #MyNBMAStory #ExcellenceEndures #Resilience #ConsistencyPays
You Won! Now, Who Gets the Glory?
Who did you dedicate your #NBMAwards to, and who’s popping the champagne with you? Just like @ruffydfire, NBMA’s Nigerian Broadcaster of the Year, we want to see your winning moments!
Make your video, tag us, and collaborate with us. Let’s celebrate your victory together! Because every win deserves a shout-out, and every champion has a squad!

🙌💪
I am deeply incredibly honored and humbled to share that I was awarded Best Radio Presenter (Morning Show) – Lagos at the 7th Annual Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA 2026)!
I dedicate this award to my parents who are no longer with us, but without whom I wouldn't be who I am today.
A huge thank you all who voted for me, my family and close friends for standing by me, and to the NBMA organizers and the esteemed judges for this incredible recognition. This award is a testament not only to my work but to the incredible team I get to work with every single day. Their support and dedication make every morning broadcast possible.
I'd also like to dedicate this award to our wonderful listeners at Nigeria Info FM, Lagos. Your energy, your calls, and your loyalty are the reason I love what I do. Thank you for making every morning an adventure! To the leadership team at Nigeria Info FM, thank you for making this the platform to beat.
This is a proud moment, and it motivates me to keep striving for excellence and to continue raising the bar in African broadcasting.
