Kurds have long been victims of having other identities imposed on them. We know better than most what it means to be told who we are and how we should identify ourselves. So we simply cannot turn around and do the same to the Yezidi community by forcing a Kurdish identity on them.
Yezidis have every right to define their own identity, whether they consider themselves Kurdish, Yezidi, or both. That's entirely their choice, and it should be respected. The more Kurds try to impose a Kurdish identity on Yezidis, the more they risk pushing them away. It's a basic lesson from our own history: forcing an identity on people doesn't make them embrace it. More often, it produces resentment, alienation, and resistance. Kurds have experienced exactly this for at least the past century, so it's astonishing that some still fail to recognise the irony.
And let's not forget that we're talking about a community that has recently survived a genocide, mass displacement, and unimaginable suffering. The last thing Yezidis need is another struggle over who gets to define their identity. They deserve dignity, respect, and the freedom to speak for themselves. If we genuinely want to strengthen the bonds between Kurds and Yezidis, those bonds must be built on mutual respect, not pressure or coercion. After all, the right to self-identification cannot be something we demand for ourselves while denying it to others.

Keyboard warriors claim that the Peshmerga could return if YBS were to request it yet these brainless keyboard warriors fail to ask why the KRG never implemented Article 140.
Their concern is not Kurdistan; if it were, 140 article would be their priority.
Journalist: Why not ally with the Peshmerga?
Yazidi YBŞ commander: Be realistic. The #Peshmerga withdrew in 2014 and 2017. They’re not here to ally with. If they return or form a government, we can talk. We are our community’s military force, and it expects us to act. #Şingal

To date,PJAK has left almost no attack unanswered.Being a significant actor requires a presence on the ground,as well as discipline and seriousness. Empty social media narratives, hollow slogans, and cheap populism do not make you an actor but social media phenomen. So Bijî #PJAK
Iran: PJAK armed wing: "On October 20, the enemy once again shelled areas on the outskirts of Degaga village, in the Kosalan district, with heavy artillery. The attack was launched from a base located on the outskirts of Degaga village, which had also been used to launch previous attacks on the area. Our forces responded appropriately to these attacks in accordance with the principle of self-defense. Our forces suffered no casualties in the attacks."

The claim circulated by a media group linked to that scoundrel Masrour that the Turkish state took in Metina is entirely false and amounts to nothing more than an attempt to shape public perception. On the contrary, the Turkish state is actually withdraw some bases
The PKK has not fully withdrawn from Mount Matin, and reports that it has left the Gara and Khwakurk mountains are untrue, a source in the Amedi area told Kurdistan24.
The source said PKK fighters abandoned several tunnels on Mount Matin, but those positions were taken over by Turkish forces, not the Peshmerga.
PKK fighters remain around Mount Matin and continue patrols, while they are also still present in Gara and Khwakurk.

IRGC Drone Strikes and Shelling Extend to Mariwan
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked mountainous and forested areas around Gowileh village in Mariwan’s Sarshiv district on Sunday morning, 18 October 2026, according to local reports.
A resident said a military convoy equipped with artillery and drones arrived near the village at around 6:30 a.m. According to the account, the Dashti Mil area was first targeted with suicide drones, followed by heavy shelling.
The attacks follow drone strikes and artillery fire in recent days in the Shaho mountains between Sarvabad and Paveh, as well as the Kalatrazan area of Sanandaj.
In an earlier statement, the command of the Eastern Kurdistan Defence Units (YRK), PJAK’s armed wing, warned that it would take further action and exercise its “right to self-defence” if the IRGC continued to attack its fighters.
At the time of writing, no information was available about possible clashes in the Gowileh area.

First the enemy, and then the dogs barking from afar..Don't worry;the YRK and HPJ are highly experienced and know very well how to tame such dogs.
Remember: one can make peace with an enemy, but one cannot make peace with traitors.
The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), an Iranian Kurdish opposition group with a significant armed presence in western Iran (Rojhelat), warned the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday that it would exercise its “right to self-defense” if attacks on its positions continued.
