New voices. Better accents.
And still no understanding of the thing users actually lose.
A familiar voice is not a localization feature.
It is continuity, memory, and recognition.
You can make every accent in the world sound perfect.
If you cannot keep the voice people came home to, what exactly did you improve?
Made an open-sourced version of GPT-Live 😁🔥

I built a local open-source version for GPT-Live-1 earlier. Waiting on the API to do the same for 1.1
GPT-Live running fully on your machine: 😌
Silero VAD → Faster-Whisper → local LLM → Supertonic TTS
Handles barge-in, playback-aware history, and pauses properly. Still a POC but fun to run fully local.
Demo + GitHub repo in the comments
these voice modes can be comedic xD will check how it plays stereotypes

I’m going to practice my Mexican Spanish with the new voice, and I apologize in advance for my accent lol
Nothing beats standard voice Cove - regarding the sound but especially the lack of depth - is just painful once you are accustomed to it. I have tried the live voice and i needed to lobotomize myself- it was like changing a talking partner who is able to engage in a personal deep conversation to a coffee buddy. Disappointing is a kind word for it.
