Dario Amodei was so worried about Y2K that his high school teacher still remembers it decades later.
He’s been a doomer for much longer than I thought!
Long before they were soon-to-be billionaires, Dario and Daniela Amodei were students at San Francisco’s most elite public high school. sfchronicle.com/tech/article…

Many of these pitches start with the assumption that you have so much discretionary income that you can’t be bothered to decide how to use it.

seriously sad what happened to openai. they lost. i mean, its their fault, they didn't take my advice (my advice was to make their models smarter and faster and cheaper)
cest la vie

Replying to @sk7037
@sk7037 - “The way we will make sure frontier models are safe and aligned is by spending compute. So the counterintuitive point is that we’ll need even more compute to make sure future models are more safe and aligned”
Yeah… slow down my a** 😂
OAI wants even more compute

Grok 4.7 should be roughly on par with Opus 5.0, not 5.1. Better in some ways, worse in others. We need to fix multimodal performance.
Grok 4.8 will be a noticeable improvement.
Grok 4.9 is probably Astra/Fable class.
Grok 5 maybe better than anything. We shall see.

The way people talk about Instinct today feels exactly like the way people talked about Clubhouse in 2021

When it comes to *mass adoption*, personal AI assistants (Instinct / Muse, etc.) are solutions looking for a problem imo.
The vast majority of people in the world do not have a life sufficiently complex to warrant agentic orchestration.
People don't realize it because nobody speaks up, but this is the sort of shit that SemiAnalysis creates in the background that I and the rest of the NeoCloud industry gets to deal with.
Now, I've got 8 month old interns thinking they can charge me for "neocloud security."
Dylan you're a clown grifter who just makes everything you touch turn to shit. @JordanNanos, you're part of the problem too. I used to have respect for you, but at this point, sticking with SA any longer is just putting a shit stain on your own reputation.
Truly looking forward to ClusterJunk 3.0.

Sam Altman admits you should bid software
Sam Altman admits he was wrong on AI's timeline and says society and the economy will adapt more slowly
"I thought when we got to GPT-4, which was back in 2023, that very quickly after that there was going to be much more disruption, software businesses up for grabs right away, than it turned out to be."
"I think I was wrong about a few things, but one in terms of the speed: the economy just has so much inertia."
"People keep doing the same things, buying from the same company, wanting to use their tools the same way. I think this is actually a positive in many ways, and it's going to make this big transition go smoother and slower. I'm grateful for it."
"But it means we've all been too ambitious on timelines. Even with this incredible technology, society and the economy will adapt more slowly."

Do a mass primer on 800V for the masses and then say checks likely pushed it back a year 2 weeks later to institutional clients..

Message from a very good software engineer:
“i switched to codex because of anthropics shenanigans and discovered it's a better coding model. trying kimi k2.6 right now and i'm blown away by how good it is. i still have an anthropic plan but 99% sure i'm going to cancel it”
what are you doing @AnthropicAI?

OK yeah 4.7 is absolutely fucked.
praying it's just harness-model-systemprompt mismatch issue.
